Assembled battery
An assembled battery includes a plurality of air cells arranged in a horizontal direction and a plurality of connection flow paths. Each air cell includes a storage portion between a positive electrode and a metal negative electrode to store an electrolysis solution. The storage portions of the respective adjacent air cells communicate with each other by the respective connection flow paths. An insulation fluid for electrically insulating the electrolysis solution in the respective adjacent air cells is sealed in the respective connection flow paths.
BATTERY
A battery including: first and second battery terminals configured for electrical communication with a load; a battery casing having first and second end portions and a chamber disposed therein; a first and second constituent, and at least one barrier arranged in a first configuration within the chamber which restricts the first constituent from interacting with the second constituent to provide an electrolyte within the chamber that is suitable for operation of the battery in powering the load in electrical communication with the first and second battery terminals; and whereby, responsive to a force being applied to a portion of the battery, the barrier is configured for arrangement into a second configuration from the first configuration so that the first constituent and the second constituent are able to interact with each other to provide an electrolyte within the chamber that is suitable for operation of the battery in powering the load.

Packaging and shipping system for a dry charged battery
A packaging and shipping system for dry charged batteries. The packaging system includes a shipping crate having a lower section that defines an open interior. The open interior is sized to receive a dry charged battery and a plurality of electrolyte bottles. Each of the electrolyte bottles contains a volume of electrolyte sufficient to fill one of the individual cells of the dry charged battery. Each of the electrolyte bottles are separately packaged and positioned within the open interior of the shipping crate. Upon reaching the desired destination, the shipping crate can be stored. When the dry charged battery is to be placed into use, the shipping crate is opened and the individual cells of the dry charged battery are filled with electrolyte from the plurality of electrolyte bottles. Once the dry charged battery has been activated, the empty electrolyte bottles can be placed back into the shipping crate and returned for recycling.
Standby electrical energy storage devices
This invention relates to the formation of standby structural composite electrical energy storage devices, and a method of producing same. The device may be a standby battery or supercapacitor with first and second electrodes which are separated by a separator structure, wherein the device contains an electrolyte retained in a reservoir. The use of at least one valve allows the addition, removal of electrolyte fluids, and venting of any outgassing by products.

WAKE-UP BATTERIES FOR INVASIVE BIOSENSORS
Example biosensor devices having wake-up batteries and associated methods are disclosed. One example device includes a biosensor that has a first electrode for insertion into a subcutaneous layer beneath a patient's skin, and a second electrode coupled to the first electrode for insertion into the subcutaneous layer, and a first battery to apply a voltage across the first and second electrodes, the first battery at least partially electrically decoupled from the electrodes. The device also includes a second battery having an anode material coupled to the first electrode for insertion into the subcutaneous layer, and a portion of the second electrode. The second battery is activatable upon immersion in an electrolytic fluid. The device also includes a wake-up circuit to receive a signal from the second battery and, in response, to electrically couple the first battery to the first and second electrodes to activate the biosensor.
Primary battery and moisture sensor
Provided are an easy-to-handle primary battery capable of spontaneous power generation and a moisture sensor including the same. The primary battery includes a separator that is disposed between a negative electrode and negative electrode current collector (a negative electrode) and a positive electrode and positive electrode current collector (a positive electrode), and sucks up electrolyte solution by the capillary phenomenon with an exposed portion of the separator 5 exposed from battery casings.

Assembled Battery
Provided is an assembled battery in which a large number of flat batteries can be stacked easily. An assembled battery 1 includes stacked multiple flat batteries A, B, and C in the shape of an N-sided polygon (N is an integer of 3 or more). Each of the multiple flat batteries A, B, and C in the shape of the N-sided polygon has a positive-electrode terminal 21a and a negative-electrode terminal 61a that extend in different directions having 360°/N in between, and the multiple flat batteries A, B, and C are electrically connected in series. The assembled battery 1 also includes multiple N-sided polygonal separating films 71 and 72 disposed between each pair of adjacent ones of the stacked multiple flat batteries A, B, and C to insulate the flat batteries from one another.
