METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR GENERATING HYDROGEN GAS AND ELECTRICITY FROM RECYCLED METAL
Disclosed is an apparatus and method for generating hydrogen from water and recycled soft metals (e.g., used empty aluminum beverage cans). The generated hydrogen can be used as an energy source, for example to power hydrogen fuel cell powered automobiles or to generate electricity for an electrical power grid. The apparatus has a size and weight allowing it to be used where the recycled metal cans are generated, and is suitable for use as a home appliance.

The present disclosure provides a high-pressure hydrogen apparatus gas seal member which is excellent in durability and is capable of sufficiently suppressing an occurrence of a blister fracture. A high-pressure hydrogen apparatus gas seal member of the present disclosure is a high-pressure hydrogen apparatus gas seal member made of a crosslinked product of an elastomer composition which comprises an elastomer and fibrous carbon nanostructures having an average length of 100 μm or more and 1000 μm or less, wherein the fibrous carbon nanostructures have a surface fractal dimension of 2.3 or more and 3.0 or less or a radius of gyration of 50 nm or more and 500 nm or less, and further the fibrous carbon nanostructures has an inner diameter of 4.0 nm or less.

The present specification discloses a membrane reactor comprising a reaction region; a permeate region; and a composite membrane disposed at a boundary of the reaction region and the permeate region, wherein the reaction region comprises a bed filled with a catalyst for dehydrogenation reaction, wherein the composite membrane comprises a support layer including a metal with a body-centered-cubic (BCC) crystal structure, and a catalyst layer including a palladium (Pd) or a palladium alloy formed onto the support layer, wherein ammonia (NH.sub.3) is supplied to the reaction region, the ammonia is converted into hydrogen (H.sub.2) by the dehydrogenation reaction in the presence of the catalyst for dehydrogenation reaction, and the hydrogen permeates the composite membrane and is emitted from the membrane reactor through the permeate region.
