The present disclosure is generally related to vent assemblies. More particularly, the present disclosure is related to vent assemblies that are configured for pressure equalization of an enclosure.

BATTERY CELL, BATTERY, POWER CONSUMING DEVICE, AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING BATTERY CELL

The present application provides a battery cell, including a cover plate, a housing, and a gas-permeable film. The housing has an opening, and the cover plate covers the opening of the housing. The cover plate and/or housing have/has at least one through hole, and the inside and the outside of the battery cell are in communication with each other via the through hole; and the gas-permeable film is connected to the inside of the cover plate and/or housing and covers the at least one through hole. According to the battery cell of the present application, gas inside a battery can be discharged to prevent the gas from accumulating inside the housing, thereby improving performance of an electrode assembly, prolonging service life of a secondary battery, and ensuring safety performance of the battery cell.

A battery cell includes a housing. A dimension of the housing along a length direction of the battery cell is greater than a dimension of the housing along a thickness direction of the battery cell and a dimension of the housing along a width direction of the battery cell. The housing includes a board extending along the length direction and an accommodation space opened from at least one end of the accommodation space. The battery cell further includes an electrode assembly disposed in the accommodation space and a cover configured to cover the opening. A pressure relief mechanism is disposed at the board and configured to be actuated, in response to an internal pressure or temperature of the housing reaching a threshold, to relieve the internal pressure. In the length direction, an extension dimension of the pressure relief mechanism is greater than or equal to ¼ of an extension dimension of the board.

FLUID DRAINAGE ARRANGEMENT FOR A BATTERY

A fluid drainage arrangement for a battery arrangement, the fluid drainage arrangement having a fluid inlet, a collecting chamber, a membrane, a labyrinth chamber and a fluid outlet. The membrane is provided between the collecting chamber and the labyrinth chamber and has a closed state (Z1) and an open state (Z2). The membrane is designed, in the closed state (Z1), to collect a coolant, which passes into the collecting chamber via the fluid inlet, in the collecting chamber until the membrane, at a predetermined first differential pressure between a side of the membrane that is assigned to the collecting chamber and a side of the membrane that is assigned to the labyrinth chamber, transitions from the closed state (Z1) into the open state (Z2) and allows drainage of the coolant via the labyrinth chamber to the fluid outlet.

SEALED BATTERY

A sealed battery includes a battery can with a bottomed cylindrical shape having an opening, an electrode body accommodated in the battery can, and a sealing plate closing the opening of the battery can. The sealing plate has a first main surface facing an outside of the battery can and a second main surface opposite to the first main surface. The first main surface has a first groove therein with an arc shape. The second main surface has a second groove therein with an arc shape disposed to correspond to the first groove. The first groove has a central angle A1 smaller than a central angle A2 of the second groove. The first groove intersects a symmetry axis of the second groove on the second groove when viewed in a normal direction of the first main surface.

SECURITY APPARATUS, MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREOF AND BATTERY

Provided are a security apparatus, a manufacturing method thereof, and a battery. A first score-line and a second score-line are disposed on the security apparatus. The first score-line and the second score-line are connected to form a closed line. The first score-line and the second score-line divide the security apparatus into an outer frame and a valve sheet. A thickness of the security apparatus at the second score-line is greater than a thickness of the security apparatus at the first score-line. The valve sheet is capable of being separated from the outer frame along the first score-line and being kept in connection with the outer frame at the second score-line.

A battery module includes a plurality of battery cells having electrode terminals respectively at one end and the other end thereof and having a vent unit opened to discharge gas to the outside when an internal pressure increases over a predetermined level; a cell frame having an accommodation space for accommodating the plurality of battery cells and have a plurality of exposure holes opened so that the gas discharged from the battery cell moves to the outside; a screen member fixed to the cell frame to seal the exposure hole and configured to open a region thereof corresponding to the exposure hole by a gas pressure when gas is discharged from the vent unit of the battery cell; and a protection plate configured to fix the screen member to the cell frame and have a plurality of communication holes located corresponding to the exposure holes.

Secondary Battery

A cylindrical secondary battery may have an insulation layer formed in a region in which the top cap and the first gasket are coupled to each other. The insulation layer may include a ceramic material and a binder. The secondary battery is designed so that, when an external electrical conductive object is electrically connected directly to a positive electrode and a negative electrode of the secondary battery, an electrode tab of the secondary battery is broken as quickly as possible.
