A battery pack including a housing having a first portion and a second portion coupled to the first portion. The first portion has a first wall and an interface extends from the first wall. The interface includes a plurality of terminal apertures that provide access to electrical terminals within the housing. The second portion has a second wall, and the second wall is positioned opposite the first wall. A first plurality of vents extends through the first wall and a second plurality of vents extends through the second wall. A cumulative surface area of the first plurality of vents is different than a cumulative surface area of the second plurality of vents.

This application provides a battery, an apparatus, and a manufacturing method and an apparatus of batteries, and relates to the field of energy storage technologies. The battery includes two battery cells and two discharge channels. The two battery cells each include a pressure relief mechanism, and the pressure relief mechanism is configured to be actuated when internal pressure or temperature in the battery cell reaches a threshold, to release the internal pressure. The two discharge channels are configured to collect emissions respectively from the corresponding battery cell when the pressure relief mechanism is actuated.

The present disclosure relates to a battery module including: a battery cell stack in which a plurality of battery cells are stacked; and a pressure drop sheet on one side of the battery cell stack, in which the pressure drop sheet includes: a ventilation layer including ceramic fiber; and a sacrificial layer on at least one face of the ventilation layer, the sacrificial layer is disposed in a direction facing the battery cell stack, and the pressure drop sheet exhibits gas permeability at a critical temperature.

A housing cover is provided for placement on a housing lower part of a battery housing of a traction battery of an electrically driveable motor vehicle. The housing cover includes a cover layer for closing off a housing interior of the battery housing accommodating at least one battery cell, and a protection layer overlapping at least in part with the cover layer to withstand a thermal load caused by a supply of heat to the housing cover in the event of an emergency gassing of the at least one battery cell. The protection layer is mechanically connected in connection regions to the cover layer and is arranged in protection regions at a distance from the cover layer, thus forming a gap intended to increase a thermal transfer resistance between the protection layer and the cover layer.
