Transmission line and air bridge structure
An object is to provide a transmission line having an air bridge structure in which grounding conductors of a transmission line are connected by wiring and which is stable in terms of mechanical strength by lowering an electrostatic capacitance in a region where the wirings connecting the central conductor and the grounding conductor intersect with each other. The transmission line includes a substrate, a first central conductor and a second central conductor that are formed on a surface of the substrate, a third central conductor that has a first erection portion and a second erection portion erected on the surface, and a first grounding conductor and a second grounding conductor. The transmission line further includes a third grounding conductor connecting the first grounding conductor and the second grounding conductor. The third central conductor and the third grounding conductor form an air bridge structure.
LOW LOSS TRANSMISSION LINE WITH STEPPED STRUCTURES
A transmission line includes a signal conductor and one or more return conductors, one or more of which having a stepped multi-layer structure. The return conductors may be disposed at opposite sides of the signal conductor. The return conductors may be multi-layer structures. At least some layers of each return conductor may have a stepped arrangement that defines a curve, such as an exponential curve. Additionally or alternatively, the signal conductor may be a stepped multi-layer structure, where at least some layers of the signal conductor may define a curve, such as an exponential curve. The signal conductor may be disposed at one or more upper layers of the transmission line or may be embedded at one or more layers near the center of the transmission line.
Waveguide connector having a curved array of waveguides configured to connect a package to excitation elements
Generally, this disclosure provides apparatus and systems for coupling waveguides to a server package with a modular connector system, as well as methods for fabricating such a connector system. Such a system may be formed with connecting waveguides that turn a desired amount, which in turn may allow a server package to send a signal through a waveguide bundle in any given direction without bending waveguides.
Millimeter wave impedance matching structures
An electronic device may be provided with a transceiver, a substrate, and antennas mounted to the substrate. The transceiver and antennas may convey signals between 10 GHz and 300 GHz. A radio-frequency connector may be mounted to the substrate. A coaxial cable may couple the transceiver to the connector. A stripline in the substrate may couple the connector to the antennas. Impedance matching structures may be embedded in the substrate for matching an impedance of the stripline to an impedance of the coaxial cable. The impedance matching structures may include a fence of conductive vias, landing pads, and a volume of the dielectric substrate defined by the fence of conductive vias and the landing pads. The impedance matching structures may be configured to perform impedance matching over a relatively wide bandwidth that includes the frequency band of operation for the antennas.
Simplification of complex waveguide networks
An improved system for simplifying a complex waveguide network in a satellite system is described herein. A waveguide network device may be configured with at least two housing portions attached together. This enables the waveguide network device to receive an arbitrary number of waveguide routes and output the routes in any configuration, effectively simplifying the overall waveguide network architecture.
Coaxial to waveguide transducer including an L shape waveguide having an obliquely arranged conductor and method of forming the same
A coaxial waveguide transducer includes: a waveguide having a substantially L shape formed of a first waveguide part and a second waveguide part arranged substantially orthogonal to each other; a stepwise step bend part formed in an outer corner part of an L-shaped bent part of the waveguide; a first conductor and a second conductor arranged in respective inner side walls of the waveguide in such a way that they are extended in a direction in which a central conductor of the coaxial line is extended and are positioned on a plane the same as that where the central conductor is provided; and a third conductor having one end connected to the central conductor and another end connected to one of the first conductor and the second conductor, the third conductor being arranged obliquely with respect to the direction in which the central conductor is extended.
WAVEGUIDE POWER DIVIDER
A waveguide power divider device comprises four two-port orthomode junctions arranged with their common waveguides extending in parallel, wherein the two ports of each orthomode junction extend in orthogonal directions, four E-plane T-junctions, each T-junction coupling two of the four orthomode junctions to each other via respective ones of their ports, a four-port turnstile junction, wherein waveguides of the four ports are bent to extend in parallel to an extension direction of a common waveguide of the turnstile junction, and four waveguide twists, each waveguide twist coupling a common waveguide of a respective one of the T-junctions to the waveguide of a respective one of the ports of the turnstile junction, with broad walls of the common waveguide of the T-junction and of the waveguide of the port of the turnstile junction being orthogonal to each other.
