Balloon catheter and manufacturing method thereof, and treatment method

A balloon catheter that includes an elongated main body extending in an axial direction and a balloon connected to the distal portion of the elongated main body. The balloon includes an interior and is inflatable and deflatable. The balloon catheter also includes a plurality of elongate bodies extending radially away from the outer surface of the balloon. The elongate bodies are crystals of a water-insoluble drug. The elongate bodies each possess an independent longitudinal axis. Each of the elongate bodies includes a base portion at the proximal end of the elongate body. A plurality of elongate body proximal portions extend radially inwardly from the base portion of each of the elongate bodies toward the interior of the balloon. The elongate body proximal portions are continuous extensions of the crystal of the water-insoluble drug.

Balloon catheter and manufacturing method thereof, and treatment method

A balloon catheter includes an elongated main body extending in an axial direction and a balloon connected to the elongated main body. The balloon is inflatable and deflatable in the radial direction. The outer surface of the balloon includes a plurality of recesses that are spaced apart from one another. The balloon catheter also includes a plurality of elongate bodies on the outer surface of the balloon. The elongate bodies are crystals of a water-insoluble drug extending in the radial direction of the balloon away from the interior of the balloon. The elongate bodies each possess an independent long axis. At least two elongate bodies of the elongate bodies are positioned in one of the recesses in the outer surface of the balloon. These two elongate bodies extend from within the recess to a surrounding environment in the radial direction of the balloon.

Medical balloon catheters with enhanced pushability

Systems and methods can involve wedge dissectors attached to strips in turn attached to medical balloons, for forming serrations within vascular wall tissue for angioplasty as well as drug delivery.

CUTTING DEVICE AND CUTTING BALLOON
20220192692 · 2022-06-23 ·

The present application disclosed a cutting device and a cutting balloon, the cutting device includes a connection tube, at least one cutting component and a collapsible tube; the collapsible tube is made of elastic material and configured to be sleeved on the connection tube; the at least one cutting component includes a cutter body and cutting connection segments connected to the cutter body, the cutting connection segments are connected to a peripheral side of the connection tube (100) and are located in the collapsible tube; and the collapsible tube is in elastic contact against the cutting connection segments.

BALLOON CATHETER

Provided is a balloon catheter wherein a balloon is less likely to swell in the protective tube during an air leak test of the balloon in a state where the balloon having projecting portions is housed in a lumen of the protective tube. A balloon catheter contains: a shaft extending in a distal-proximal direction; a balloon having wing-shaped portions; projecting portions disposed on an outer surface of the balloon; and a protective tube in which the balloon is disposed, wherein, in a cross section perpendicular to the distal-proximal direction at a midpoint of a length in the distal-proximal direction of the protective tube, a distance from a centroid of the protective tube through an apex of each projecting portion to an inner surface of the protective tube is longer than a distance from the centroid through none of the projecting portions to the inner surface of the protective tube.

Devices, systems, and related methods for delivery of fluid to tissue

A fluid delivery system including a first balloon and a second balloon at least partially positioned within the first balloon, wherein the second balloon has an inner surface, an outer surface, and at least one micro-needle extending outwardly from the outer surface of the second balloon. The delivery system can further include a fluid source in communication with at least one of the micro-needles of the second balloon.

Parison for forming blow molded medical balloon with modified portion, medical balloon, and related methods

A parison for being blow molded into a medical balloon for a catheter includes a first tubular layer having a functional modification and a second tubular layer adapted for bonding with the first tubular layer to form the blow molded balloon. Related methods are also disclosed.

Finned angioplasty balloon

An angioplasty balloon (1) comprises an elongate tube (16) having a relaxed delivery configuration and an expanded deployed configuration. The elongate tube (16) comprises a proximal neck portion (10), a distal neck portion (8), a main body region, a tapered proximal portion (11) extending between the main body region and the proximal neck portion (10); and a tapered distal portion (9) extending between the main body region (3) and the distal neck portion (8), the elongate tube has only three fins (4, 5, 6) which are integrally formed with the tube and which are spaced equidistant from one another about the exterior of the tube. The fins (4, 5, 6) project radially outwardly from the exterior surface of the tube and the fins (4, 5, 6) extending longitudinally only along part of the main body region (3), resulting in the end-sections of the balloon main body being fin-free.

Cage for medical balloon

A cage can be positioned around a medical balloon, such as an angioplasty balloon, to assist in a medical procedure. The cage can include a plurality of strips, each extending between a set of rings including first and second rings. As the balloon expands, the first and second rings move closer together and allow the strips to expand outward. The cage may have wedge dissectors on the strips.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR CATHETER BASED LIGHT DELIVERY

Systems and methods are provided for performing a treatment of a lesion within a subject using an endoscopic device. The endoscopic device comprises an endoscope and a catheter. The endoscope is configured to be inserted into the subject and includes a working channel. The catheter is configured to pass through the working channel of the endoscope. The catheter further comprises a sheath, an expandable device, and a light source. The sheath has a lumen and the expandable device may include an inflatable balloon. The light source is configured to be controllable through the lumen of the sheath. The light source is configured to selectively apply light to the lesion within the subject when the endoscope is inserted into the subject.
