VALVULOPLASTY MEDICAL DEVICE THAT ALLOWS BLOOD FLOW DURING USE
20220249108 · 2022-08-11 ·

Medical devices are described including a plurality of expandable members to open a vascular lumen while maintaining blood flow during expansion. The device includes a plurality of exterior members (114) that are inflatable or expandable. The device may also include, but does not require, an inner member (110) to further radially expand or circumferentially separate the exterior members.

Inflatable Dilation Device

An inflatable dilatation device includes: (i) a tubular frame including a first frame member that zigzags circumferentially; and (ii) an elongate inflatable first balloon. The elongate inflatable first balloon: (i) is secured to the first frame member; and (ii) zigzags along the first frame member, such that inflation of the first balloon causes the first balloon and the first frame member circumferentially to expand in unison from a contracted condition to an expanded condition.

BALLOON FOR BALLOON CATHETER AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING BALLOON CATHETER

A method for manufacturing a balloon catheter including preparing a tubular parison (20) made of a resin and a mold (30) that has an inner cavity into which the parison (20) is to be inserted and that has a first groove (41) formed on an inner wall surface forming the inner cavity; inserting the parison (20) into the inner cavity of the mold (30); allowing the resin to enter the first groove (41) by introducing a fluid into a lumen (23) of the parison (20) to expand the parison (20); and removing the parison (20) from the mold (30) before the resin reaches a bottom (41a) of the first groove (41).

Balloon-in-balloon irrigation balloon catheter

An irrigation balloon catheter includes one or more inner balloons inside of an irrigation balloon. The inner balloon(s) can be compliant with a volume that is dynamically adjustable for rapid inflation, rapid deflation, complete deflation, and/or irrigation flow adjustment.

An embodiment provides a method for normalizing cardiac venous return, including: inserting percutaneously a calibrated balloon catheter through a femoral vein; advancing the calibrated balloon catheter to the inferior vena cava; and placing a balloon portion of the calibrated balloon catheter at a location before the drainage point of the hepatic vein.

INTRAVASCULAR BALLOON WITH SLIDABLE CENTRAL IRRIGATION TUBE

A balloon catheter has a central tube that is configured to both structurally support and inflate a balloon membrane. The central tube has a lumen and sidewall inflation ports that provide a path for inflating the balloon. The lumen of the central tube is obstructed by a distal end piece, nose piece, or other structure to prevent fluid from exiting a distal end of the central tube. The central tube is configured such that, during inflation, inflation media is allowed to pass through an elongated shaft of the catheter, into a proximal open end of the central tube, and through the inflation ports into the balloon. The central tube can slide longitudinally in relation to the shaft to longitudinally elongate and/or truncate the balloon.

Systems and methods can involve wedge dissectors attached to strips in turn attached to medical balloons, for forming serrations within vascular wall tissue for angioplasty as well as drug delivery. Such balloon blowing techniques can reduce the balloon profile, the material costs, and the manufacturing time to build a serrated balloon catheter device. The design and process to build this type of balloon is described herein.

SPLIT OVERTUBE ASSEMBLY

An overtube assembly for use with an elongate medical includes a flexible tubular body having a proximal end and a distal end, the flexible tubular body including a tube split extending longitudinally from the proximal end to the distal end. The flexible tubular body defines each of a primary lumen extending from the proximal end to the distal end and accessible through the tube split and a secondary lumen separate from the primary lumen.

VASCULAR ABLATION

The disclosure includes a vein ablation system, comprising a catheter having an elongated body. In some embodiments, the vein ablation system comprises an ablation device at a distal portion of the elongated body. According to some embodiments, the vein ablation system comprises a control device at a proximal portion of the elongated body. The control device may comprise an input mechanism configured to simultaneously control at least two of a longitudinal translation of the ablation device through a target vessel, a rotation of the ablation device about a central longitudinal axis, and an infusion of a chemical agent into the target vessel.

An intravascular device can comprise a carrier and an expansion apparatus. The device can be used for intravascular treatment of atherosclerotic plaque. The carrier can be reversibly expandable and collapsible within a vessel and can have ribbon strips extending between opposite ends in a longitudinal direction of the carrier. The ribbon strips can each be formed with a plurality of elongated protrusions thereon. The expansion apparatus can be used to actuate the ribbon strips each with the plurality elongated protrusions to pierce a luminal surface of the plaque with lines or patterns of microperforations which act as serrations for forming cleavage lines or planes in the plaque.
