Bypass Catheter
20190217053 · 2019-07-18 ·

An innovative medical device that permits rapid, minimally invasive restoration of blood flow across a vascular blockage. A method employing said device, allowing for lysis or removal of said blockage. Said device creates a temporary bypass using longitudinal structure configured for insertion into the blood vessel and adapted to deliver a side hole to a target area. The side hole defines a distal first segment and a proximal second segment with a lumen to allow blood flow therethrough to the distal end hole. In an alternate embodiment, a slidable outer sheath can cover the side hole to permit reversal of blood flow from the distal end hole to a proximal end hole located outside a patient's body by means of an aspiration controller. Alternate embodiments include an optional anchoring balloon, a macerating stent or wires, perforations for fluid delivery, and a backflow valve.

OCCLUSION CATHETER SYSTEM FOR PARTIAL OCCLUSION OR FULL OCCLUSION

A vascular occlusion catheter for at least partial occlusion of a target vessel includes proximal and distal shafts, with an occlusion balloon connected therebetween. The proximal shaft has a proximal internal lumen, in fluid communication with the occlusion balloon. The distal shaft has a distal internal lumen. A hypotube having an internal lumen extends through the proximal lumen and the occlusion balloon and into communication with the distal lumen. The catheter includes at least one of (i) a distal sensor positioned within the distal lumen and facing an opening formed in the distal shaft, or (ii) the proximal shaft further includes a sensor lumen, and a proximal sensor is positioned within the sensor lumen and facing an opening formed in the proximal shaft. A display hub is mounted to the proximal shaft, and is electrically connected with the at least one of the distal sensor or the proximal sensor.

A system for supporting or dilating a body vessel includes a balloon catheter with a shaft having a delivery lumen in communication with an interior of the balloon. The balloon includes holes formed in the outer wall of the balloon. Additional or daughter balloons are delivered through the delivery lumen into the cavity of the balloon and through the holes into engagement with the holes. The daughter balloons are inflatable to seal against the holes, and the main balloon is subsequently inflatable when sealed by the daughter balloons. The daughter balloons may be delivered to branch vessels to provide support in addition to the inflation of the main balloon. The system may include preloaded wires extending through the delivery lumen and through the holes, and the daughter balloons can be delivered over the wires to the desired location.

Stability device for use with percutaneous delivery systems

A delivery system for stabilizing a catheter shaft across an aortic arch can include one or more stabilizing members configured to fix or stabilize the position of the catheter relative to the aortic arch of a patient.

Bulging torus balloon

A medical device for anchoring itself and other medical devices while channeling blood flow through the center of a vessel proximal to the device's target area to minimize debris and the pressure necessary to move blood proximal to the device. The medical device also provides superior recoil reduction capabilities. A doughnut-shaped balloon that may be inflated and deflated by increasing and decreasing pressure within the balloon, having two passages therethrough, dimensioned for blood flow and a delivery device. A method for using the device.

FLOW RATE CONTROL DEVICE FOR VARIABLE ARTERY OCCLUSION

An endovascular occlusion device. The endovascular occlusion device (300) has a balloon (306) and a catheter (304). The catheter (304) has a distal end (308), a proximal end, and a lumen (318) extending therebetween. The balloon (306) is positioned proximate to the distal end (308) of the catheter (304) and has a deflated state and an inflated state. The catheter (304) further includes a plurality of ports (314) proximate to a proximal end of the balloon (306). Each port (314) extends through a wall of the catheter (304) such that surface (316) of the catheter (304) is in fluid communication with the lumen (318) of the catheter (304). A flow restrictor (324) is positioned within, and is in sliding relation with, the lumen (318) of the catheter (304). Movement of the flow restrictor (324) is configured to close one or more ports (314) of the plurality so as to limit blood flow through the lumen (318) of the catheter (304).

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR INCREASING BLOOD FLOW THROUGH AN OBSTRUCTED BLOOD VESSEL

A method of restoring perfusion to a blood vessel with an obstruction. The method includes delivering an expandable member into the blood vessel, said expandable member having a tubular mesh defined between a proximal end and a distal end; causing the expandable member to expand and compress the obstruction; and dislodging the obstruction to restore blood flow through the blood vessel.
