QUASI-OPTICAL BEAMFORMER WITH LENS AND PLANE ANTENNA COMPRISING SUCH A BEAMFORMER
A beamformer comprises a transmission line fed by at least one input feed source, the transmission line comprising two stacked metal plates extending, along two directions, longitudinal X and transverse Y. The transmission line further comprises at least one protuberance extending in the directions X, Y, and in a direction Z orthogonal to the plane XY, the protuberance comprising a metal insert extending in the directions X and Y and extending height-wise in the direction Z, the insert comprising a base fastened to one of the two metal plates and a free end and having a contour of variable length between the two lateral edges of the transmission line. In the protuberance, the transmission line is adjoining the insert and forms, in the direction Z, a circumvolution around the insert.
Long-range fractal-based defense system
A fractal-antenna based system with radar-like detection and communication comprises a fractal antenna array that transmits and receives EM radiation ranging from high frequency (HF) to ultralow frequency (ULF), a phase shifter coupled to the fractal antenna array, a pulse generator coupled to the phase shifter, and a host computer coupled to the phase shifter and the pulse generator. The host computer is configured to: i) control the pulse generator to craft a transmitted wave of selected shape in the time domain, with the ability to enable active defensive measures or detection-only modes, ii) control the phase shifter and antenna to cause radiation to sweep across a coverage radius of at least 5 kilometers, iii) analyze signals received by the fractal antenna array to detect the location and speed of reflective objects in the coverage area, and activate countermeasures based on the location and speed of a detected reflective object.
DEVICE AND METHOD FOR CONFIGURING ANTENNA USING PHASE OF ANTENNA
The disclosure relates to a technology for configuring an antenna using a phase of an antenna, and provides an antenna configuration device and method comprising generating a virtual antenna between antennas included in a plurality of antennas positioned within a preset first distance from a first antenna, determining a phase difference between the antennas included in the plurality of antennas, determining a reliability indicating a performance of the virtual antenna based on the phase difference, and removing at least one antenna among the plurality of antennas based on the reliability, and installing an extrapolated antenna within a preset second distance from an unremoved antenna among the plurality of antennas.
