The Rx antenna elements are spaced according to an Rx lattice dRx, such that the Rx lattice dRx spacing arrangement provides grating lobe-free scanning in an elevation plane at a Rx frequency range.

RADIO WAVE EMISSION SOURCE VISUALIZATION APPARATUS AND BAND EXPANSION METHOD

An apparatus includes antenna, selector, estimator, imager and creator. The antenna includes antenna elements of N rows by N columns (N is a natural number of 2 or more) arranged in an array and captures an incoming wave. The selector selects an antenna element group including antenna elements of M rows by M columns (M is a natural number less than N) from the antenna elements of N rows by N columns according to a band of the incoming wave. The estimator estimates an incoming direction of the incoming wave from an element signal of each of the antenna elements included in the selected antenna element group. The imager acquires image data by imaging an orientation direction of an aperture of the antenna. The creator creates a visualized image by visually synthesizing the estimated incoming direction with the image data.

20220393351 · 2022-12-08 ·

An electronic device may be provided with a phased antenna array on an antenna module. The array may include low band antennas and high band antennas that radiate at frequencies greater than 10 GHz. The module may include antenna layers, transmission line layers, and ground traces that separate the antenna layers from the transmission line layers. The low band antennas and the high band antennas may have radiators patterned onto the antenna layers. The radiators may be fed by transmission lines on the transmission line layers. The antenna layers may have a dielectric permittivity that is greater than the dielectric permittivity of the transmission line layers. This may serve to reduce the lateral footprint of the low band and high band antennas, which allows the antennas to be interleaved along a common linear axis in the phased antenna array, thereby minimizing the lateral footprint of the antenna module.

Antenna radiator with pre-configured cloaking to enable dense placement of radiators of multiple bands

Disclosed is an antenna that enables dense packing of low band, mid band, and C-band radiators. The low band radiators have a plurality of dipole arms that minimize re-radiation of either RF energy emitted by either the mid band or C-Band radiators. In one embodiment, the dipole arms are formed of a two-dimensional structure that has a shape that substantially prevents re-radiation in both the mid band and the C-band. In another embodiment, the dipole arms have two different configurations: a first configuration optimized for preventing re-radiation in the mid band, and a second configuration optimized for preventing re-radiation in the C-Band. In the latter embodiment, the low band radiators in close proximity to the mid band radiators have dipole arms of the first configuration, and the low band radiators in close proximity to the C-Band radiators have dipole arms of the second configuration.
