A plurality of corporate combiners may be assembled together as a combiner network.

Mitigation of polarization mismatch between reflector and feed antennas by feed predistortion

An apparatus and method for mitigating polarization mismatch in reflector antenna systems. A feed unit is configured to determine a polarization mismatch between a first polarization associated with a first wave and a second polarization associated with a reflector unit. The feed unit pre-distorts the first wave to achieve a compensated polarization for reducing and/or eliminating a polarization mismatch. The pre-distorted first wave having the compensated polarization is used to illuminate the reflector unit. A re-radiated wave is reflected by the reflector unit. Furthermore, the level of the re-radiated wave is increased as a result of the pre-distortion.

A waveguide device that includes a common port and divided ports may also include a sidewall feature that extends across a first set of opposing sidewalls and a second set of opposing sidewalls of the waveguide device. The sidewall feature may have a same shape on each of the first set of opposing sidewalls and a second set of opposing sidewalls. In some cases, the sidewall feature is positioned outside a divided waveguide section of the waveguide device. The position of the sidewall feature may be determined based on an impedance matching metric between the common port and the divided ports, an isolation metric between the divided ports, or both.

The probe sensor includes a proximate end that receives the microwave energy signal from the transceiver and a distal end including an aperture that outputs the microwave energy signal. The probe sensor directs the microwave energy signal at a first direction based on the first waveguide mode and a different second direction different based on the second waveguide mode. The probe sensor receives different levels of reflected microwave energy based at least in part on a location at which the at least one microwave energy signal is reflected from the machine.

An electronically aligned wideband tracking modulator system is described. The wide band tracking modulator system comprises a waveguide coupled to an antenna. The wide band tracking modulator system also comprises waveguide tuning circuitry configured to convert RF energy from a waveguide of the wideband tracking modulator system into an RF signal that can be processed by the waveguide tuning circuitry. The waveguide tuning circuitry is also configured to shift a phase of the RF signal. The waveguide tuning circuitry is further configured to convert the phase-shifted RF signal into phase-shifted RF energy and return the phase-shifted RF energy to the waveguide to electrically align the wideband tracking modulator system.

The present invent discloses an electrically-controlled switching multi-polarization horn antenna, which relates to the technical field of communication antennas. The horn antenna includes a horn antenna body, a polarization controller and a polarization switching apparatus. The horn antenna's control module controls a linear polarization control generation module, a circular polarization control generation module and a polarization selection module to cause the horn antenna to operate in a horizontal polarization mode, a vertical polarization mode, a left-hand circular polarization mode or a right-hand circular polarization mode. The antenna can realize a quick switch between different polarization modes, and the switch is electrically controlled rather than performed by manually replacing the antenna. Using the antenna of the present invent can effectively shorten test time, reduce the number of times replacing antennas by a tester, and more accurately measure characteristics of a device under test in various polarization modes.
