An antenna element with a filtering function, a filtering radiation unit, and an antenna. The antenna element is tubular, with a spiral slit arranged around the periphery of the tubular antenna element and extending in an axial direction. The filtering radiation unit includes a support column, and an upper part of the support column is electrically connected to at least one antenna element. The antenna includes a reflecting plate, and at least one filtering radiation unit is fixedly arranged on the reflecting plate. The antenna element with a filtering function has functions of radiating signals and suppressing interference simultaneously. The filtering radiation unit can cooperate with a high-frequency radiation element during use to achieve the aim of radiating a high-frequency signal and a low-frequency signal simultaneously. The antenna is good in performance, small in size, and high in integration degree.

Ultra-wide bandwidth low-band radiating elements

A dipole antenna includes a reflector, a radiating element, and a feed element. The radiating element includes first and second dipoles above a surface of the reflector. The first and second dipoles respectively include arm segments and are arranged in a crossed dipole arrangement. The feed element includes first and second conductive transmission lines that are electrically isolated from one another and are capacitively coupled to the arm segments of the first and second dipoles, respectively. The arm segments of the first and second dipoles are between the feed element and the surface of the reflector.

The inventive subject matter provides apparatus, systems and methods in which a high port count base station antenna uses an array of spherical lenses with multiple ports per frequency band, containing multiple frequency bands, and capable of multiple beam operation. In a preferred embodiment, the antenna system comprises a plurality of spherical, dielectric lenses, stacked vertically, where each lens is surrounded by four or more lower frequency radiating elements, or one circular element. The circular element can have multiple sub-elements, along with feed gaps.

Antenna and radiation unit thereof, balun structure of radiation unit and manufacturing method

An antenna and radiation unit thereof, and balun structure of radiation unit are disclosed. The radiation unit has two dipoles belonging to a same polarization and two feeding components respectively feeding the two dipoles. One end of each of the two feeding components is electrically connected to its corresponding dipole, and the other end of each of the two feeding components is combined through a same physical combining port inherent in the radiation unit. By arranging a combining port inherent to the radiation unit and connecting it to a respective end of two feeding components connected to two dipoles of the same polarization, the signals of the two dipoles are divided/combined through the combining port.

Multi-beam base station antennas having wideband radiating elements

A twin beam base station antenna includes a first array that has a plurality of columns of first frequency band radiating elements, the first array configured to form a first antenna beam that provides coverage throughout a first sub-sector of a three-sector base station. The radiating elements in a first of the columns in the first array have a first azimuth boresight pointing direction and the radiating elements in a second of the columns in the first array have a second azimuth boresight pointing direction that is offset from the first azimuth boresight pointing direction by at least 10°. The radiating elements in the second of the columns in the first array are electrically steered.

An antenna structure includes a substrate, a plurality of reflective plates, a grounding plate, a radiating member, a signal feeding via and a plurality of conductive vias. The substrate has opposite first and second surfaces and comprises liquid crystal polymer. The reflective plates are arrayed on the first surface of the substrate. The grounding plate is disposed on the second surface of the substrate and overlapped with the reflective plates in a normal direction of the substrate. The grounding plate further includes an opening. The radiating member is disposed on the first surface of the substrate and physically separated from the reflective plates. The signal feeding via is coupled with the radiating member and penetrates through the substrate to be exposed in the opening of the grounding plate. The conductive vias penetrate through the substrate and respectively connect the reflective plates and the grounding plate.

Sidelobe suppression in multi-beam base station antennas

A lensed multi-beam base station antenna may include a plurality of linear arrays of radiating elements, a plurality of reflectors, a sidelobe suppressor, and a lens. Each array may include a plurality of radiating elements (e.g., two or more radiating elements) that extends forwardly from a planar section of a respective reflector. The sidelobe suppressor may comprise radiofrequency (RF) absorber material that absorbs energy that is emitted by a first of the arrays and that is directed toward a reflector underneath a second of the arrays. The sidelobe suppressor may comprise a RF choke that reduces the RF energy emitted by a first of the arrays that is directed toward a reflector underneath a second of the arrays.

BEAM FORMING ANTENNAS HAVING DUAL-POLARIZED DIELECTRIC RADIATING ELEMENTS THEREIN

Beam forming antennas for base station applications are configured as dielectric resonator antennas (DRAs) having arrays of dielectric resonator radiating elements (DRRE) therein with dual-polarized radiating properties. Each DRRE includes a dielectric radiating element (DRE) electromagnetically coupled by a resonant cavity to a respective cross-polarized feed network, which is responsive to first and second radio frequency (RF) input feed signals. Each resonant cavity may be configured as a polymer-filled resonant cavity, and each DRE may be configured as a cylindrically-shaped or dome-shaped dielectric radiating element.

The antenna assembly comprises a ground plane and a dual-polarised lower band antenna elements mounted to the ground plane proximal to peripheral sides of the ground plane. The location of the lower band antenna elements defines a lower band peripheral boundary. The antenna assembly comprises (1) dual-polarised upper band antenna elements mounted to the ground plane, nested within the lower band peripheral boundary, (2) an upper feeding network configured to connect opposing pairs of lower band radiating elements of the dual polarised lower band antenna elements and feed the lower band antenna elements, the upper feeding network being located within the lower band peripheral boundary, and (3) a lower feeding network positioned below the upper feeding network, and is configured to feed the dual polarised lower band antenna elements via the upper feeding network using a pair of ultra-wideband duplexers.
