The antenna faces the upper wall portion, and has a plurality of patch portions arranged in an array, a plurality of feeding lines extending in a direction from the patch portion and individually provided for the patch portions, and a plurality of short-circuit portions individually provided for the patch portions and electrically connecting the patch portion and the upper wall portion. The upper wall portion has a plurality of openings 34 individually formed with respect to the feeding lines. Each of the feeding lines extends into the waveguide through the corresponding opening.
DUAL-BAND ANTENNA ARRAY WITH BOTH FAN BEAM AND PENCIL BEAM
The present disclosure relates to a dual-band antenna array with fan beam and pencil beam. The antenna comprises a substrate and an antenna array arranged on the surface of the substrate, a first antenna element and a second antenna element are cascaded in an x-axis direction by a filter phase-shift line so as to form a subarray. A pair of T-shaped monopoles are symmetrically placed along the x axis at a certain distance above and below each of the first and second antenna elements, respectively, and a rectangular slot is embedded in the upper edge of the second antenna element to achieve good impedance matching. The second antenna element generates a fan beam at one frequency point or frequency band to have the performance of a wide beam, and generates a pencil beam at another frequency point or frequency band to have the performance of a narrow beam.
Twin line fed dipole array antenna
This document describes a twin line fed dipole array antenna that may be coupled to several different types of feed networks in a space-efficient manner. The antenna makes use of a twin line feed to a plurality of dipoles that minimizes cross-polarization. The antenna may be manufactured on a printed circuit board (PCB) and has a centered feed slot that is easily coupled to several different types of waveguides or a microstrip. In some implementations, the dipole elements may have an approximately rectangular shape. In other implementations, the dipole elements may have an approximately bowtie shape, round shape, oval shape, C-shape, or L-shape. The size and placement of the dipole elements may be optimized for certain operating frequencies of the radar system to which the antenna is coupled.
PASSIVE FREQUENCY MULTIPLEXER
A passive frequency multiplexer includes a beam forming network lens including a plurality of input terminals and a plurality of output terminals; a transmission line for transmitting a signal to the beam forming lens; and a plurality of couplers arranged in series along the transmission line, each of the plurality of couplers comprising an input terminal, an output terminal, and a coupled output terminal, each of the coupled output terminals of the plurality of couplers being coupled to a respective one of the input terminals of the beam forming network lens.
PHASED-ARRAY ANTENNA WITH IN-PLANE OPTICAL FEED AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURE
A phased antenna array comprises a plurality of antennas and photodiodes arranged on a substrate. Each antenna is driven by an electrical signal output by the photodiode. The photodiodes each receive an optical signal via an optical fiber. The optical fibers conform to the sheet-like shape of the antenna array (which may be planar or curved) and optically communicate with a corresponding photodiode via a corresponding reflector, such as a ninety degree reflector. The reflectors may comprise a v-groove in a silicon substrate on which the optical fiber is positioned and a reflecting surface. Each reflector may be attached to the substrate or a ground plane positioned parallel to the substrate and the optical fiber may connect to the reflector in a direction running parallel to the phased antenna array. This optical feed network may accommodate tight spacing of the antenna elements (such as spacing less than 5 mm apart) with a thin profile.
Phase diversity input for an array of traveling-wave antennas
According to various embodiments, systems and methods for suppressing grating lobes in a traveling-wave antenna system are disclosed. An apparatus can include a traveling-wave antenna array comprising a plurality of adjacent traveling-wave antennas. The apparatus also can include a phase diversity feed coupled to the traveling-wave antenna array. The phase diversity feed can be configured to provide phase diverse input to two or more of the plurality of adjacent traveling-wave antennas.
WIDEBAND COPLANAR WAVEGUIDE FED MONOPOLE APPLIQUE ANTENNAS
A thin, flexible antenna that has particular application to be mounted to a dielectric structure on a vehicle, such as vehicle glass, where the antenna has a wideband antenna geometry for various communications applications, and where the conductive portion of the antenna can employ transparent conductors.
