An electronic device is provided. The electronic device may comprise a housing comprising: a front plate facing a first direction, a back plate facing a second direction opposite to the first direction, and a side surface which surrounds the front plate and the back plate, wherein the front plate includes a screen area and a bezel area; a display exposed through the screen area of the front plate; a first circuit board disposed between the display and the back plate and including a first surface facing the display and a second surface facing the back plate; a first antenna array overlaid on the bezel area in the first surface; a second antenna array disposed on the second surface; and a wireless communication circuit disposed on the first circuit board and electrically connected with the first antenna array and the second antenna array, wherein the wireless communication circuit is configured to: form a beam which has directionality in the first direction using the first antenna array and form a beam which has directionality in the second direction using the second antenna array.

Provided is an antenna module including: a phased array having a plurality of antennas and configured to communicate a first RF signal and a second RF signal, which are polarized in different directions; a front-end radio frequency integrated circuit (RFIC) including a first RF circuit configured to process or generate the first RF signal and a second RF circuit configured to process or generate the second RF signal; and a switch circuit configured to connect each of the first RF circuit and the second RF circuit to a first port or a second port of the antenna module according to a control signal. The first and second ports are each connectable to a back end RFIC that processes or generates a baseband signal.

An electronic device includes: a first pair of antennas having a first polarization along a first direction in a plane, where the first pair of antennas are spatially offset from each other along a second direction in the plane; and a second pair of antennas having a second polarization along the second direction, where the second pair of antennas are spatially offset from each other along the first direction. During operation, the electronic device may configure switching elements to: select the first pair of antennas and electrically couple the second pair of antennas to ground; or select the second pair of antennas and electrically couple the first pair of antennas to ground. Then, the electronic device may communicate a packet or a frame with a second electronic device via the selected first pair of antennas or the second pair of antennas.

An antenna system, a feeding network reconfiguration method, and an apparatus is disclosed. The antenna system may include an antenna array, a reconfigurable network unit, a control unit, and K radio frequency channels. The antenna array may include L antenna subarrays, and the reconfigurable network unit may divide the L antenna subarrays into M antenna subarray groups, and separately connect the M antenna subarray groups to the K radio frequency channels; any one of the K radio frequency channels may perform signal processing on a signal received by a connected antenna subarray group and/or a to-be-transmitted signal; and the control unit may control the reconfigurable network unit to adjust a mapping relationship between an antenna subarray group connected to each radio frequency channel and the antenna subarrays.

The single-pole-double-throw switch is shielded from the circular loop by a metallic ground plane. An annulus of dielectric insulates the circular loop from the metallic ground plane.

An antenna for receiving wireless power from a transmitter is provided. The antenna includes multiple antenna elements, coupled to an electronic device, configured to receive radio-frequency (RF) power waves from the transmitter, each antenna element being adjacent to at least one other antenna element. Furthermore, the multiple antenna elements are arranged so that an efficiency of reception of the RF power waves by the antenna elements remains above a predetermined threshold efficiency when a human hand is in contact with the electronic device, the predetermined threshold efficiency being at least 50%. Lastly, at least one antenna element is coupled to conversion circuitry, which is configured to (i) convert energy from the received RF power waves into usable power and (ii) provide the usable power to the electronic device for powering or charging of the electronic device.

Aspects described herein relate to receiving, from a device, a first reference signal transmitted using a first set of antenna elements over a first polarization, receiving, from the device, a second reference signal transmitted using a second set of antenna elements over a second polarization, determining, based on the first reference signal and the second reference signal, an inter-polarization phase adjustment to be applied to signals transmitted from the first set of antenna elements or the second set of antenna elements, and transmitting, to the device, an indication of the inter-polarization phase adjustment.

ANTENNA ARRANGEMENTS FOR A RADIO TRANSCEIVER DEVICE

There is provided an antenna arrangement for a radio transceiver device. The antenna arrangement comprises at least two antenna arrays, wherein at least one of the at least two antenna arrays has antenna elements of two polarizations. The antenna elements of one polarization at each of the at least two antenna arrays define a respective set of antenna elements. The antenna arrangement comprises at least two baseband chains. The antenna arrangement comprises a switching network configured to selectively operatively connect each of the at least two baseband chains with its own set of antenna elements such that no two baseband chains are operatively connected to one and the same set of antenna elements. Each of the at least one antenna array that has antenna elements of two polarizations is operatively connected to the switching network via a respective hybrid connector configured to provide a signal from one of the baseband chains to antenna elements of both polarizations.
