PHASED ARRAY ANTENNA FOR USE WITH LOW EARTH ORBIT SATELLITE CONSTELLATIONS
Examples disclosed herein relate to a phased array antenna system for use with a Low Earth Orbit (“LEO”) satellite constellation. The phased array antenna system has a plurality of antenna panels positioned in a dome and an antenna controller to control the plurality of antenna panels, the controller directing a first antenna panel to transmit a first signal and a second antenna panel to transmit a second signal to a LEO satellite, the first signal having a first phase and the second signal having a second phase different from the first phase.
Base station antenna
The present invention relates to a base station antenna, comprising: a plurality of first radiating elements that are arranged as a first vertically-extending array; a plurality of second radiating elements that are arranged as a second vertically-extending array, where the second radiating elements are staggered in the vertical direction with respect to the first radiating elements; wherein phase centers in an azimuth plane for first sub-arrays of the first radiating elements are substantially the same as phase centers in the azimuth plane for respective third sub-arrays of the second radiating elements, and wherein the first sub-arrays each have a first number of first radiating elements and the third sub-arrays each have a second number of second radiating elements, the first number being different than the second number. This can effectively improve the pattern of the base station antenna.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR ANTENNA PLACEMENT FOR WIRELESS COMMUNICATIONS
A first antenna array includes antenna panels including: first antenna panels arranged on a first circle having a first radius, each of the first antenna panels including antenna elements: and second antenna panels arranged on a second circle having a second radius, each of the second antenna panels including antenna elements, the second circle being concentric with the first circle at a center point, the second antenna panels being arranged at a first angle around the center point with respect to the first antenna panels, the first radius, the second radius, and the first angle being computed in accordance with wireless transmission conditions including: a line-of-sight distance to a second antenna array including third antenna panels arranged on two or more circles; and a carrier frequency of a line-of-sight wireless transmission between the first antenna array and the second antenna array.
DYNAMIC COMPENSATION OF A PHASED ARRAY RFID READER
Methods and devices for performing dynamic compensation of a phased array RFID reader are disclosed herein. An example method includes configuring an RFID reader having an antenna array to compensate for determined antenna element phase-shift errors. The method includes exciting a reference antenna element of the antenna array, emitting an emitted signal, receiving the emitted signal via a receiver antenna element of the antenna array, and generating a received signal. The method further includes determining, by a processor, a phase shift of the received signal relative to the emitted signal, and determining a phase-shift error. The method then includes configuring the RFID reader to compensate for the determined phase-shift error associated with the receiver antenna element in response to receiving an RFID tag signal.
ANTENNA ASSEMBLY AND ANTENNA TUNING-FREE METHOD AND APPARATUS
A quantity of antennas included in the antenna assembly is greater than a quantity of receive antennas supported by customer premises equipment (CPE). Therefore, when a network changes, the CPE may select, from a plurality of antennas included in the antenna assembly, a quantity of antennas with relatively good data transmission performance as receive antennas, where the quantity is the same as the quantity of receive antennas supported by the CPE. That is, the CPE may not need to adjust directions of antennas, but select, from a redundant quantity of set antennas, antennas with relatively good receiving performance to ensure that the CPE is aligned with a direction with relatively good signal quality.
Wireless communication device with an antenna adjacent to an edge of the device
A wireless communication device comprising a housing comprising a plurality of edges and configured to serve as an external surface for the wireless communication device, and an antenna adjacent to at least a first edge of the housing, wherein the antenna comprises at least a conductive strip and at least one slot and wherein the antenna is configured to receive and transmit wireless signals, wherein the first edge of the housing is one of an edge of the housing nearest an ear piece and an edge of the housing that is opposite the edge of the housing nearest the ear piece, and wherein the conductive strip and the slot are adjacent to at least the first edge of the housing.
Wireless communication device with an antenna adjacent to an edge of the device
A method for a wireless communication device including configuring an antenna including antenna circuitry to receive or transmit wireless signals; feeding a radio frequency signal into the antenna circuitry; providing a housing comprising a plurality of edges, wherein the edges comprise a top edge, a bottom edge, and two side edges, wherein a first edge of the housing comprises a conductive strip, a first slot, and a second slot, and wherein the first edge is the top or bottom edge; providing an input/output port adjacent to the first edge of the housing; and locating the conductive strip, which comprises a portion of the antenna, entirely between the first slot and the second slot, wherein a length of each of the first slot and the second slot extends across the first edge of the housing and is oriented perpendicular to a major axis of the conductive strip.
