CONNECTION STRUCTURE OF BUS BAR AND CABLE

A connection structure of a bus bar and a cable has: a bus bar that serves as an external terminal; a cable that has a core wire exposed from an insulation sheath at a terminal, the core wire being joined with the bus bar; a protective member that covers at least a joining portion of the bus bar and the core wire of the cable; and a cut portion that is formed in the core wire at the joining portion with the bus bar.

Weldable poka-yoke connector

The present disclosure is for an electrical connector assembly for a vehicle, among other apparatuses known in the art utilizing electrical connectors. The electrical connector assembly is comprised of a connector body and a terminal coupled to the connector body. The electrical connector assembly also comprises a wire harness having a lead. A connector is coupled to the lead and to the terminal, and the connector establishes an electrical connection between the lead and the terminal. The connector and the terminal each have a portion that forms one end of a poka-yoke connection. The connector and the terminal are welded to secure and maintain the respective electrical connection.

A cable connector includes a base and a mating portion extending downwardly from a lower side of the base, and an upper and a lower platform around an upper side of the base. First and second rows of contacts include connecting sections. The connecting sections of the first row are exposed upon the lower platform and the connecting sections of the second row are exposed upon the upper platform. Upper and lower rows of wires are located above the housing. Two grounding brackets are mounted upon the upper and lower platforms. Each bracket includes bulged sections and tails. Inner conductors of the wires are connected to the connecting sections of the differential-pair contacts, the braiding layers of the wires are sandwiched between the bulged sections and the housing in the vertical direction, and the tails are connected to the connecting sections of the grounding contacts.

A cable assembly is provided and includes a cable core including a first signal conductor and a second signal conductor separated by at least one insulator. The first signal conductor includes a first exposed segment extending forward of the first insulator to a first conductor end. The second signal conductor includes a second exposed segment extending forward of the second insulator to a second conductor end. The cable has a cable shield surrounding the cable core providing electrical shielding along a length of the cable. The cable assembly includes a contact holder extending between a front and a rear. The contact holder is located forward of the cable. The contact holder has contact channels extending between the front and the rear. The cable assembly includes a first contact received in the corresponding channel of the contact holder. The first contact has a mating end and a terminating end. The terminating end has a first weld edge welded to the first conductor end at a first butt weld. The cable assembly includes a second contact received in the corresponding channel of the contact holder. The second contact has a mating end and a terminating end. The terminating end has a second weld edge welded to the second conductor end at a second butt weld.

CABLE ASSEMBLY

A cable assembly comprises a cable, a holding member and a contact. The holding member holds the cable. The contact is located above the holding member in an upper-lower direction. The cable comprises a conductive wire. The conductive wire has a fixed portion. The holding member has a predetermined surface. The contact has a facing surface. The facing surface is in contact with the predetermined surface in the upper-lower direction or faces the predetermined surface with a distance formed therebetween in the upper-lower direction. The fixed portion is fixed and connected to the predetermined surface.

The conductive member includes a braid joining portion. The braid joining portion includes, at a part of the conductive member in a longitudinal direction of the conductive member, a plurality of openings formed at intervals with each other along a direction intersecting the longitudinal direction and a welded portion defined by two adjacent openings of the plurality of openings. The braid joining portion is provided on the braid in an overlapping manner and the welded portion is laser-welded onto the braid.

Each of the conductor components includes an electrical insulator and a wire main body. The electrical insulator encircles the wire main body, so that a first terminal and a second terminal are exposed from the wire main body, and the first terminal is connected to one of the two connecting members. Each of the electrically connecting components includes a connecting portion, to which the second terminal of the wire main body is fixed.

The core wire protecting portion includes a base on which the insulating covering portion is placed and welded pieces which are provided so as to extend from the base and disposed near the core wire exposed from the insulating covering portion, and the welded pieces are welded to one face of the bus bar along with the exposed core wire.

An electric wire with a terminal, includes an insulated wire which includes a core wire and an insulating layer covering the core wire, a seal member which is disposed in one end portion of the insulated wire and covers the insulating layer, a metal terminal which extends from the end portion of the insulated wire and is connected to the core wire and a waterproof resin portion which covers from a seal member covering part of the insulated wire to an electrical connection part of the metal terminal. The insulating layer contains an olefin resin. The waterproof resin portion contains a polyester, a polyamide, an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer, or a mixed resin thereof. The seal member includes an inner layer containing an ethylene resin and an outer layer laminated on the inner layer and containing a polyester, a polyamide, an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer, or a mixed resin thereof.
