Assembly of an electric cable with a cable terminal
Method for crimping a cable terminal onto an electric cable includes providing an electric cable having an outer insulation sheath and at least one conductive strand with a sheathed portion, and providing a terminal having shrink wings and provide a gasket having a sealing portion and a shrink portion. The method also includes stripping the electrical cable so that a stripped portion is formed, positioning the shrinkage portion of the joint so that it directly overlaps the stripped portion of the cable without the shrinkage portion overlapping the sheathed portion of the cable, and fully crimping the shrink wings onto the shrink portion of the joint without the shrink wings covering the sheathed portion of the cable.
Twist-lock electrical connector assembly
An electrical connector assembly includes a male terminal having a first pivot feature and a plurality of contact arms extending from the first pivot feature. The assembly further includes a female terminal having a base plate defining a second pivot feature and a plurality of receptacle features configured to receive free ends of the plurality of contact arms as the first pivot feature engages the second pivot feature and the plurality of contact arms is rotated around the first and second pivot features.
TERMINAL-EQUIPPED WIRE
A terminal-equipped wire 1 is provided with a terminal 10 and a coated wire W pulled out rearward from the terminal 10. The terminal 10 includes a wire barrel portion 20 to be crimped to a core wire W1 in an end of the coated wire W. The wire barrel portion 20 includes a crimping bottom surface 22 and a pair of wire barrel pieces 21 extending from both side edges of the crimping bottom surface 22. A front end part of the core wire W1 is covered by front end parts of the pair of wire barrel pieces 21 of the wire barrel portion 20. A confirmation hole 40 enabling confirmation of the front end part of the core wire W1 is provided in the crimping bottom surface 22 of the wire barrel portion 20.
CRIMPING TERMINAL
A crimping terminal includes a conductor crimping portion, the conductor crimping portion including: a bottom plate on which a conductor of an electric wire is disposed; and a pair of conductor tightening pieces extending from both side edges of the bottom plate, the conductor crimping portion configured to be crimped and connected to the conductor by tightening the conductor in a state where the conductor is covered with the conductor tightening pieces. The conductor crimping portion includes a serration extending in a groove shape across the pair of conductor tightening pieces and the bottom plate in a direction intersecting an extending direction of the conductor to be disposed on the bottom plate, and a width of an opening of the serration is equal to or larger than a width of a bottom surface of the serration.
Electrical Multi-Core Cable Crimp Ferrule, and Crimping Method
A crimp ferrule includes an assembly portion assembled on a non-circular internal cross section of a multi-core cable and a diameter compensation portion forming a circular external cross section of the crimp ferrule on the multi-core cable. The assembly portion and the diameter compensation portion are arranged successively in an axial direction of the crimp ferrule.
Low profile edge connector and system using same
An edge connector is configured to connect to a circuit board. The edge connector includes a base wall, a first terminal mount extending upwardly from the base wall, the first terminal mount having a plurality of passageways, terminals mounted in the passageways, a second terminal mount extending upwardly from the base wall, the second terminal being spaced from the first terminal mount, the second terminal mount having a plurality of passageways extending therethrough, terminals mounted in the passageways of the second terminal mount, and a moveable latch extending from the upper surface of the base wall, the latch positioned between the first and second terminal mounts. Each terminal mount extends along part of the length of the base wall such that a platform is formed by the upper surface of the base wall rearwardly of the terminal mounts. A latch protection wall extends from each terminal mount to the rear end of the base wall, and the latch protection walls are proximate to the latch.
Retaining ring terminal
Provided is a female electrical connector referred to as a retaining ring terminal. The retaining ring terminal is a one-piece electrical connector having a crimp style cable connector portion on one end for receiving an electrical cable and a female post connector portion on a second end for receiving a post or male electrical connector. The female post connector portion includes a flat planar ring and a plurality of tabs (separated by a plurality of grooves) which extend from the inner surface of the flat planar ring inwardly towards the opening of the female post connector portion. The female post connector portion also includes a groove which extends through a flat planar ring, referred to as a ring groove which becomes a tab groove and has the same shape as the other tab grooves. A pair of ring holes are positioned on opposite sides of the ring groove on the flat planar ring.
Fork structure for positive retention and centering a wire for electrical connection
An electronic device includes a fork structure having a pair of arms disposed in spaced relation and defining an open-ended channel therebetween. A surface of channel defines a seat opposite the open end. The channel has a width W.sub.1 at its narrowest section. A rigid wire of an electrical component is disposed in the channel generally adjacent to the seat. The wire has a width W.sub.2 that is greater than the width W.sub.1 so surfaces of the channel at the narrowest section defined by width W.sub.1 interfere with the wire, preventing the wire from moving towards the open end of the channel. The pair of arms are constructed and arranged to be moved toward each other so as to crimp the wire to the fork structure.
CONNECTING ARRANGEMENT
A connecting arrangement electrically connects a heating conductor to an electrical connection line. The heating conductor includes a heating conduction element having an exposed end segment defining a first connecting region and the electrical connection line includes a connection line conductor having an exposed end segment defining a second connecting region. A connector mutually electrically connects the exposed end segments. A shielding sleeve surrounds the first connecting region, the second connecting region and the connector. The shielding sleeve has first and second sleeve end portions and the shielding sleeve is connected to the heating conductor in the first connecting region and is connected to the electrical connection line in the second connecting region and so shields the exposed end segment of the heating conduction element and the exposed end segment of the connection line conductor and the connector against external influences.
CONNECTOR
A connector includes: an electric wire; a terminal connected to the electric wire; a housing having a housing space to house a connection portion of the electric wire and the terminal; a seal member to seal an opening portion of the housing space to isolate the connection portion housed in the housing space from an outside; and a heat storage member located in the housing space.
