Methods and apparatus for disinfecting and reflux prevention flush syringe assembly
Embodiments of the invention are directed to flush syringe assemblies comprising an integrated contamination-prevention device integrated with device connector flushing positioned so that the practitioner cannot forget to apply disinfectant. The flush syringe assemblies comprise a barrel with an elongate plunger rod disposed therein and a cap comprising a passageway. The plunger rod includes a stopper of which at least a portion can be embedded in the passageway of the cap to form a plug in the cap. Methods of flushing a vascular access device (VAD) while providing a flush syringe assembly described herein are also disclosed.
Infusion and blood collection devices and methods
An apparatus for the uninterrupted administration of fluid to an animal body during clean blood collections is disclosed. Embodiments include an intravenous device defining a first fluid channel, wherein the first fluid channel is configured to selectively transport IV fluid to an animal body and draw a bodily fluid from the body, and a connection member configured to connect to a catheter to the first fluid channel and defining a concave distal end. A second fluid channel continuously provides IV fluid to a lumen coaxially located within the catheter. The concave surface is shaped to create a fluid flow pattern that quickly and completely removes residual bodily fluid remaining at the concave distal end. Embodiments include a concave surface defining an asymmetric funnel shape, a vertex of which is centered on the first fluid channel.

Self-closing devices and methods for making and using them
A self-closing device for implantation within a patient's body includes base material including an inner surface area for securing the base material to a tissue structure, and a plurality of support elements surrounding or embedded in the base material. The support elements are separable laterally within a plane of the base material to accommodate creating an opening through the base material for receiving one or more instruments through the base material, and biased to return laterally towards a relaxed state for self-closing the opening after removing the one or more instruments. The device may be provided as a patch or integrally attached to a tubular graft or in various shapes.
Valved catheter assemblies and related methods
Valves are described for intravenous (IV) catheter assemblies for controlling fluidic flow. The valve can prevent blood leakage in multiple access use situations. A thinner area of the valve around a slit is provided. The thicker area of the valve is to provide rigidity to the valve so that it is able to return to a closed configuration when a Luer connector is removed.
Blood pump assembly and method of use thereof
The invention provides a blood pump for use with an intravascular ventricular assist system (iVAS), as well as a method for utilizing the blood pump to treat heart failure.
VASCULAR ACCESS CATHETER
Vascular access catheter comprising elongated tubular catheter body enclosing a lumen. Catheter body includes catheter tip ending with a catheter distal end and comprising a distal edge at the catheter distal end surrounding an opening opened to the lumen. he distal edge includes a front edge portion spanning a top portion of the opening and an inclined edge portion spanning a bottom portion of the opening and inclining proximally away from the front edge portion, relative to a longitudinal axis of the catheter body. The vascular access catheter can be provided in a vascular access kit further comprising access needle with hollow needle body and beveled tip ending with sharp needle edge.
Antimicrobial Skin Isolator for Catheters
An antimicrobial medical device for use during the placement of a catheter. The antimicrobial medical device includes a tubular body configured to receive the catheter through a lumen of the tubular body during an intravascular procedure and wall of the tubular body forms a liner between catheter and the patient's skin. The device further includes an antimicrobial material coupled with the tubular body so that in use the antimicrobial material inhibits microbe growth at the insertion site.
Magnetized Catheters, Devices, Uses And Methods Of Using Magnetized Catheters
Catheters, vascular access devices using such catheters, methods of using such catheters and uses of such catheters are disclosed. The catheter comprises polymeric tubing including a composition that can be magnetized by application of an externally applied magnetic field, thereby magnetizing the tubing. Detection of the magnetic field provides location information for the catheter in the vasculature.
DEVICES, METHODS, AND SYSTEMS FOR SUBCLAVIAN VEIN CATHETER PLACEMENT
A connector hub for a needle assembly, the connector hub comprising a first portion located at a first end section of the connector hub, the first portion comprising a first longitudinal axis, a second portion located at a second end section of the connector hub opposite the first end, the second portion comprising a second longitudinal axis, a medial portion located at a middle section of the connector hub between the first and second end sections, the medial portion comprising a medial longitudinal axis arranged at an angle relative to the first longitudinal axis, and arranged at an angle relative to the second longitudinal axis, and at least one insertion port located on the medial portion, wherein the insertion port comprises an insertion port longitudinal axis, wherein the insertion port longitudinal axis is arranged at an angle relative to the medial longitudinal axis.
