Connection device and method for an electronic housing for connecting a conductor, particularly a shield conductor

An electronics housing includes: a housing body; and a printed circuit board. The housing body has a connecting device for connecting a conductor, in particular a shield conductor, of a cable to the printed circuit board. The connecting device has a receiving body in which a receiving space with an opening for the conductor is formed. A cover for the opening is provided and is movable between an open position, in which the cover opens the opening for inserting an uninsulated conductor section of the conductor into the receiving space, and a closed position, in which the cover closes the opening at least in sections. The receiving body of the connecting device is disposed such that the printed circuit board is arrangeable with at least one contact section in the receiving space, and, in a closed position, the cover presses the uninsulated conductor section.

An electrical connector includes two pads having the same shape. Each pad has a connector body with a first groove, a second groove, and a hole. The hole extends through the connector body between the first groove and the second groove. A fastener extends through the hole of both of the two pads so that the two pads having the same shape are connected to one another and are pivotable around the fastener relative to one another with the two first grooves contacting a first conductor when the first conductor is in an installed position and the two second grooves contacting a second conductor when the second conductor is in an installed position. A spring is between a first end of the fastener and one of the two pads having the same shape so that the spring biases the two pads having the same shape towards each other.

Contact system for contacting a braided shield and a contact element

The invention relates to a contact system for contacting an aluminium braid (7) to a contact element (1) comprising—an electrically conducting cable (4); —the aluminium braid (7) comprising a plurality of aluminium wires, which is arranged to run at least in sections between a primary isolation (6) and a secondary isolation (8) of the electrically conducting cable (4); —die contact element (1) which can be pushed onto the electrically conducting cable (4) having an outer sleeve (3) and an inner sleeve (2) which can be inserted therein. To achieve a contact system which makes possible, in a simple fashion, a reliable contacting of an aluminium braid to a contact element without additional soldering systems being required, according to the invention the inner sleeve (2) has a first contact surface (2a) and the outer sleeve (3) has a second contact surface (3a), wherein each contact surface (2a, 3a) has areas of different size of cross-section and the contact surfaces (2a, 3a) are designed in such a manner that the aluminium braid (7) is clamped in a contact position by the inner sleeve (2) being pushed axially inside the outer sleeve (3) and contact is made with the contact element (1).

Provided are load bearing universal adaptors for connecting electrical cables in a watertight configuration. The mechanical advantage associated with wedges in a tapered cavity ensures that load is appropriately transferred to the walls of the wedge housing and, as the load increases, the gripping force on the electrical cable increases. In this manner, a load applied to the electrical cable is at least partially provided to the walls of the system rather than acting to pull the cable out of the adaptor, and the object to which the adaptor is connected, such as a terminal block.

CONNECTOR

A connector for a strip of linear lighting includes an outer shell or block and an adapter configured to be removably inserted into a cavity of the outer shell. The adapter may be a printed circuit board (PCB) adapted to mount wires on one side or edge. On the opposite side or edge, a series of contact pins are formed on the underside of the adapter. The outer shell includes a pressure-applying mechanism, like screws that insert through its thickness and are secured in a bar with threaded holes. The adapter is positioned such that the screws bear on and supply pressure to the contact pins. A strip of linear lighting is inserted into a slot beneath the adapter such that the contact pins of the adapter coincide with the solder pads or other electrical contacts of the strip of linear lighting.
