The second set of plug terminals include second ground terminals and second signal terminals, where the second plate-shaped shielding member is provided above the second set of plug terminals. The second plate-shaped shielding member is welded to the second ground terminals and transversely crosses and covers the second signal terminals without contacting the second signal terminals.

HIGH POWER ELECTRICAL HEADER CONNECTOR WITH COOLING FEATURES

An electrical connector assembly includes a connector housing, a planar busbar having a rectangular cross section defining two opposed major surfaces and four minor surfaces, a cooling plate that is sized, shaped, and arranged to be in conductive thermal contact with a first major surface of the planar busbar, and an L-shaped busbar partially disposed within the connector housing having a first end connected to an electrical terminal and having a second end attached to, and in conductive thermal contact with, a second major surface of the planar busbar. The cooling plate is configured to reduce a temperature of the planar busbar and the attached L-shaped busbar. A method of assembling such an electrical connector is also presented.

Electrical interface assembly

An interface assembly includes an interface housing including a receiving portion arranged inside an interface cavity of the interface housing, for receiving an electrical contact element. The interface housing further includes at least two latches and an electrical contact element for transferring electrical power. The electrical contact element includes a busbar portion and a plug-in portion. The busbar portion includes at least two latching noses. Each of the at least two latching noses is assigned to one of the at least two latches to block a release movement of the assigned latching nose upon mating of the electrical contact element and the interface housing.

COUPLERS FOR SINGLE PAIR CONNECTORS

A coupler couples a first connector with a second connector wherein each of the connectors is coupled to exactly two electrical conductors. Each coupler can be utilized in a shielded (e.g., metal) or non-shielded (e.g. non-metal) form as appropriate to a specific application. Each coupler includes exactly one pair of pin contacts, preferably with a square or rectangular cross- section. Each end of the pin contacts includes four tapered faces that join at a flattened apex and are configured to be received by the tuning fork contact of the connector. The pair of pin contacts are offset from one another and cross one another within the coupler to maintain electrical polarity as electricity travels from the tuning fork contacts of a first connector to the pin contacts of the coupler and onward to the tuning fork contacts of a second connector.

An electrical connector with improved high frequency performance. The connector has conductive elements, forming both signal and ground conductors, that have multiple points of contact distributed along an elongated dimension. The ground conductors may be formed with multiple beams of different length. The signal conductors may be formed with multiple contact regions on a single beam, with different characteristics. Signal conductors may have beams that are jogged to provide both a desired impedance and mating contact pitch. Additionally, electromagnetic radiation, inside and/or outside the connector, may be shaped with an insert electrically connecting multiple ground structures and/or a contact feature coupling ground conductors to a stiffener. The conductive elements in different columns may be shaped differently to reduce crosstalk.
