Power plug and socket

The present disclosure relates to techniques of electronic components and, for example, to a power plug and socket. A power plug and a power socket working together with each other are provided. The power plug includes a body, at least two AC plug terminals fixed inside the body, and two DC plug terminals fixed inside the body. Each of the AC plug terminals and each of the DC plug terminals are respectively connected to separate connecting wires. The power socket includes a base. The base is provided with a base cavity. Shape of the base cavity is adapted to shape of an insert end of the body. The base cavity is provided with AC socket terminals corresponding to the AC plug terminals one by one and DC socket terminals corresponding to the DC plug terminals one by one.

An electrical connector assembly including a first connector having a first main contact element and a first auxiliary contact element, the first auxiliary contact element being electrically connected to said first main contact element, and a second connector having a second main contact element and a second auxiliary contact element, the second auxiliary contact element being electrically connected to said second main contact element. The first and second connectors are mateable in a mating direction parallel to a longitudinal axis of the electrical connector assembly. The first and second main contact elements are configured to disconnect from each other before the first and second auxiliary contact elements disconnect from each other during unmating the first and second connectors. In a fully mated condition the first and second main contact elements are in contact and the first and second auxiliary contact elements are disconnected from each other.

COMFORTABLY OPERATED TRAVEL PLUG ADAPTER

The present invention relates to a travel plug adapter, which will also be referred to herein as a travel adapter, for short. Using such an adapter it is possible to insert power plugs of a certain (domestic) standard into the outlets present at the travel destination. The present invention relates in particular to a travel plug adapter (10), which has a housing, a plug receptacle (16), and at least a first plug (38, 84) of a first standard and a second plug (28, 86) of a second standard, wherein each plug is assigned an actuation slider (22, 24), which is guided outwardly through a slide slot (42) of the housing and is designed to displace the plug between a standby position, in which the plug is disposed substantially inside the housing, and a usage position, in which the plug is usably disposed outside the housing, and wherein the first plug (38, 84) is assigned a first blocking element (106A), such that displacement of the first plug (38, 84) between the standby position and the usage position is blocked when the movement of the first blocking element (106A) is blocked, and wherein the second plug (28, 86) is assigned a second blocking element (106B), such that the displacement of the second plug (28, 86) between the standby position and the usage position is blocked when the movement of the second blocking element (106B) is blocked, characterised in that at least one blocking slide (100A) is also provided, which in a first position releases the path of the first blocking element (106A) and in a second position blocks the path of the first blocking element (106A), wherein the second blocking element (106B) acts on the position of the blocking slide (100A).

COMFORTABLY OPERATED TRAVEL PLUG ADAPTER

The present invention relates to a travel plug adapter, which will also be referred to herein as a travel adapter, for short. An air tank (14) includes a tank inlet (14a) coupled with the pump outlet (34b) for receiving pressurized air from the air pump (34), and a tank outlet (14b) for directing pressurized air from a tank outlet (14b) to at least one pneumatic device (24). A brushless DC motor (36) includes a rotatable output (36a) coupled with the air pump (34) for operating the air pump (34) to pressurize air. A control (42) is electrically coupled to the brushless DC motor (36). The control (42) changes the level of electric current drawn by the brushless DC motor (36) to thereby change the rate of rotation of the rotatable output (36a) and/or the pump performance level.

The detector (46) detects whether the electrical connecting plug (80) is connected to a 15 Amp electric receptacle or to a 20 Amp electric receptacle and, in response, the control (42) establishes the electric profile of the electric motor (36) to correspond to the 15 Amp electric receptacle or to the 20 Amp electric receptacle.

A control (42) is electrically coupled to the motor (36) and electrically coupled to the detector (46) for controlling the level of electric current drawn by the electric motor (36) from the AC electrical outlet. The detector (46) detects whether the electrical connecting plug (80) is connected to a 15 Amp electric receptacle or to a 20 Amp electric receptacle and, in response, the control (42) establishes the electric profile of the electric motor (36) to correspond to the 15 Amp electric receptacle or to the 20 Amp electric receptacle.

Terminal connecting structure and female terminal

A terminal connecting structure includes a male terminal having a plated columnar rod portion, a female terminal having a cylindrical portion configured to receive the rod portion of the male terminal therein, and an elastic member attached to the cylindrical portion of the female terminal. The elastic member energizes the rod portion toward an inner surface of the cylindrical portion when the rod portion is inserted into the cylindrical portion. The female terminal has a plurality of projection portions protruding inward from respective regions located at both sides of a central portion of the inner surface of the cylindrical portion as seen from a front view. A tip end of each of the plurality of projection portions has a curved surface which is concave toward an outer side of the cylindrical portion.

The present disclosure is an apparatus for providing a multiple receptacle assembly whereby a number of receptacles could be configured within a single assembly of a standard size. It is contemplated that more receptacles may be available in a particular size and width than conventional power distribution units. Additionally, in another aspect of the present disclosure, the present disclosure is directed to an apparatus for providing power for multiple types of plugs via a single receptacle. In one embodiment of the disclosure, apparatus for providing power for multiple types of plugs via a single receptacle may provide power to one of a C14 plug or a C20 plug via a single receptacle, whereby the single receptacle may be configured to operate as a C13 and C19 receptacle and in compliance with IEC60320 standards.
