Access device with anchoring body and modular inserts and support structure for supporting accessories used in minimally invasive surgical procedures
An access port is disclosed for use in minimally invasive surgical procedures performed within a patient's abdominal cavity, which includes a body defining a bore configured to guide at least one surgical instrument into the abdominal cavity, and concave and convex anchoring regions for securing the access port relative to the abdominal cavity.
PERCUTANEOUS ACCESS PATHWAY SYSTEM
An improved method and device are provided for forming and/or maintaining a percutaneous access pathway. The device generally comprises an access pathway and attachment device. The provided assembly substantially reduces the possibility of iatrogenic infection while accessing and/or re-accessing a body space.
REMOTE ACCESS VASCULAR AND SOFT TISSUE TUNNERLING DILATOR SYSTEM AND METHODS OF USE
Remote access, soft tissue tunneling dilators are used for the placement of central venous catheters of varying sizes into one or more jugular veins, for forming pathways of varying sizes through subcutaneous soft tissue, or for enlarging internal renal access pathways of varying sizes to accommodate access by urological instruments. Dilators comprise a tapered body extending from a proximal end to a distal tip, where both an outer diameter and a material hardness of the tapered body gradually increase distally-to-proximally from the distal tip toward the proximal end of the tapered body. The tapered body may include a plurality of visual indicators disposed upon the body at one or both of a plurality of distally-to-proximally increasing length increments and a plurality of distally-to-proximally increasing diameter increments. Other embodiments are also disclosed.
Sheath for sealed access to a vessel
A sheath for producing a fully sealed access to the interior of a vessel of an animal or human body comprises a base sheath having a tubular body defining a pass-through channel. The base sheath is adapted to be inserted into the vessel through a vessel aperture. A wall of the tubular body of the base sheath has a through channel. This channel extends in the wall from the distal end towards the proximal end. The channel can be present separately from the pass-through channel of the base sheath or can form a sideways extension of the pass-through channel, at least at the distal end. Such through channel is adapted to conduct blood from the vessel to the proximal end of the sheath when the sheath has been inserted into a vessel.
Smoke evacuating tissue guard for tissue removal and other surgical procedures
A smoke evacuating tissue guard includes a tubular body defining a longitudinally-extending passageway, a collar coupled to a proximal end portion of the tubular body, and an outlet coupled to the collar and in fluid communication with an annular channel defined through the collar. Upon application of suction through the smoke evacuating tissue guard, the smoke evacuating tissue guard establishes a fluid path extending from the passageway of the tubular body and into the annular channel of the collar via an annular gap defined between the tubular body and the collar.
Protective Bubble
A bubble for use with various medical equipment or other sites on the body such as IV ports, feeding tube locations, PODs, CGMs (Continuous Glucose Monitors) or other equipment connected to the body, whereby the bubble assists in protecting the site, and hopefully prevents medical equipment from being dislodged, if installed, to provide for strenuous activity or even application of water, such as bathing, showering, etc.
Anchor bolt fixation system
An anchor bolt fixation system for catheter probes and electrodes having different diameters. A removable reducing tube is provided for insertion into the lumen of an anchor bolt and an anchor bolt cap is provided for securing the reducing tube to the anchor bolt. A second anchor bolt cap is provided having a bore with a diameter generally equal the diameter of the lumen of the reducing tube.
ACCESS DEVICE HAVING MODULAR INSERTS AND SUPPORTING ACCESSORIES USED IN MINIMALLY INVASIVE SURGICAL PROCEDURES
A percutaneous access device for use in minimally invasive surgery includes an elongated body having a proximal portion and an opposing distal portion. The proximal portion has a proximal bore extending therethrough and the distal portion has a distal bore extending therethrough. The distal portion of the body is hingedly connected to the proximal portion in a first percutaneous access position and a second anchoring position. In the first percutaneous access position the distal and proximal bores are linearly aligned when a surgical instrument is inserted into both the proximal and distal bores. In the second anchoring position the distal bore is angularly displaced from the proximal bore when the surgical instrument is removed from the distal bore.
SURGICAL TOOL POSITIONING DEVICE
A positioning device is provided for delivering or guiding a surgical device into a lumen of a body vessel to a position adjacent target tissue. The device includes a housing, an elongate sleeve, and a source of pressurized fluid. The sleeve has a first end coupled to a delivery side of the housing, a second end positioned on a return side of the housing, and an inverted distal portion positioned between the first and second ends. One second end of the sleeve can be furled about a support member supported on the housing. A distal portion of the sleeve defines a cavity that communicates with a pressure chamber within the housing. When pressurized fluid is directed into the pressure chamber, the pressurized fluid flows into the cavity of the distal portion of the sleeve to advance the sleeve away from the housing.
