Electrical plug connector

An electrical plug connector terminates a twisted pair electrical cable. The electrical plug connector includes a base and a plug housing holding electrical contacts therebetween. The base includes a divider structure including separation walls. At least one of the separation walls defines an abutment surface against which a forward end of the electrical cable abuts when terminated by the electrical plug connector. The plug housing defines slots so that the electrical contacts are accessible. The electrical plug connector axially secures an outer jacket of the electrical cable against rearward movement relative to base. The at least one separation wall inhibits forward axial movement of the outer jacket of the electrical cable relative to the base.

Housing for an Electrical Connector

A housing for an electrical connector includes a housing body having an opening receiving a cable in an insertion direction and a pair of cable covers hinged to the housing body at a proximal end of each cable cover of the pair of cable covers. The pair of cable covers extend away from the opening. Each of the cable covers is pivoted away from the other cable cover in a cable mounting position and each cable cover is pivoted toward the other cable cover to form a cable support sleeve supporting the cable in an operating position.

CONNECTOR

A connector comprises a housing, a holder, a contact, an electrical wire and a sleeve member. The contact is accommodated in a contact accommodation portion of the housing at least in part. The holder is attached to the housing and defines a rear end of the contact accommodation portion. An electrical wire is connected to the contact and extends outside thorough a through hole of the holder. The sleeve member has a main portion and three or more front protrusions. The main portion extends in a front-rear direction and has a C-shape section in a plane perpendicular to the front-rear direction. Each of the front protrusions protrudes forward from a front end of the main portion. The sleeve member is attached to the contact to accommodate a part of the contact and a part of the electrical wire in the main portion and located between an abutment portion and the holder. At least three of the front protrusions are brought into abutment with the abutment portion of the contact.
