The multi-catheter infusion system includes a cannula and a plurality of catheters. The plurality of catheters are in fluid communication with the cannula for delivering a drug to a target area of a patient. Each catheter includes a multi-orifice distal end.

A port is adapted to be implanted to a body with its top exposed to the environment. The port has a housing defining a chamber that has an opening at the top of the housing. An aperture having a lumen attached thereto is formed at the lower portion of the chamber. For infusion, an insert that has an internal passageway that connects a fluid inlet at its top surface and a bore at its sidewall is sealingly mated to the chamber. The bore sealingly aligns with the aperture. After infusion, the insert is removed, and a blank insert is fitted to the chamber. A band of tissue ingrowth media encircles the housing to form an aseptic barrier where the outer wall of the housing and the tissue of the body encircling the housing meet.

Dual Reservoir Implantable Access Port

An implantable access port for use in transferring fluid transdermally between an external fluid storage or dispensing device and a site within a patient is disclosed. The access port includes a body, at least two reservoirs defined within the access port body, and at least one septum secured to the body and enclosing the reservoirs within the body. The access port also includes reservoir outlets defined within the reservoirs. The access port also has body conduits defined within the body and in fluid communication with the reservoir outlets and external openings defined in the exterior of the body. An implantable access port and system for use in apheresis is also provided that includes an implantable access port, at least one needle, and a catheter that is fluidly connected to the access port.

A cerebral catheter device for draining fluid from the brain of a patient is described. The device may be used as part of a ventricular shunt system. The device includes an elongate tube for insertion into the brain of a patient to a vicinity of a desired target. A head is attached to the elongate tube that has a passageway in fluid communication with a lumen of the elongate tube. Formations are provided on the external surface of the head for securing the head in a hole formed in the skull of a patient. The head further includes a first fluid connector portion that is attachable to an associated drainage catheter device. This allows fluid communication to be established between the lumen of the elongate tube and a drainage catheter device via the passageway of the head.

The implantable nerve blocking intervention involves performing a first subdermal incision on the ventral lateral portion of the patient's thorax. A first end of a tunneling device is inserted through the first subdermal incision. The tunneling device is traversed below the patient's dermal layer towards the mid axillary line. The tunneling device is traversed above the lower section of the rib cage towards the patient's paralumbar line. A longitudinal paramidline incision is performed about 3 inches lateral to the vertebral body and the tunneling device. A needle or trocar tip is inserted through the paramidline incision towards a primitive cluster of nerves and a catheter is placed through the needle or trocar which is removed prior to anchoring the catheter. A catheter tube is inserted through the length of the tunneling device. The catheter tube is coupled to the distal catheter. The tunneling device is retracted over the catheter tube. The catheter tube is coupled to a percutaneous access port.

The present adjustable-length dual-lumen hemodialysis catheter can eliminate the need to stock various lengths of hemodialysis catheters and can provide a hemodialysis catheter, which can be trimmed to various lengths in order to precisely accommodate patients of various shapes and sizes. Specifically, the present adjustable-length dual-lumen hemodialysis catheter can comprise a cuff ring assembly, which can be secured at selected locations along the trailing limbs of the catheter allowing the cuff ring assembly to be installed in a location chosen to precisely fit a particular patient.

Devices and methods for catheter placement within a vein

An apparatus includes an introducer defining a lumen and a catheter movably disposed in the lumen. The introducer has a distal end portion configured to operably couple to an indwelling peripheral intravenous line at least partially disposed in a vein. The catheter is configured to be moved between a first position, in which the catheter is proximal to the peripheral intravenous line when the introducer is operably coupled thereto, and a second position, in which a distal surface of the catheter is distal to the introducer and disposed at a predetermined distance from a distal tip of the peripheral intravenous line. The predetermined distance defined between the distal surface of the catheter and the distal tip of the peripheral intravenous line is based at least in part on a venous anatomy associated with the vein.
