Percutaneous implant retrieval system

Devices and methods for retrieving percutaneously implanted catheter systems such as a heart valve repair system. The devices include at least one locking connector at the distal end of a flexible elongated extension for coupling to an implanted tubular member. The locking connector may be a tubular anchor having a pair of distal prongs which are biased outward and face in a proximal direction, as well as an expandable auxetic midsection. Inserting the tubular anchor into the implanted tubular member flexes the distal prongs inward such that they prevent proximal movement of the tubular anchor. A user pulls on the proximal end of the tubular anchor to expand the auxetic midsection and lock the two pieces together. The devices and methods are particularly useful to attach extensions to implanted concentric tubes to enable relative axial force application.

Percutaneous access apparatus

A percutaneous fluid access apparatus includes a percutaneous fluid access device. The percutaneous fluid access device has a base portion including a subcutaneous portion and at least one port for connection to one or more fluid conduits within a body of a patient. A housing has at least one fluid channel and at least one seal for sealing the at least one fluid channel, and the housing is removably attachable to the base portion. The at least one fluid channel is in fluid communication with the at least one port when the housing is attached to the base portion.

Neurosurgical apparatus

Neurosurgical apparatus has a guidance device having a guide tube and a neurosurgical instrument for insertion into the guide tube. The inner surface of the guide tube is arranged, for example profiled, to at least partially engage the outer surface of the neurosurgical instrument when inserted therein. The guide tube thus guides the neurosurgical instrument along a predefined path through the guide tube. At least one of the guidance device and the outer surface of the neurosurgical instrument are configured to provide a fluid return path for carrying any fluid displaced from within the guide tube during insertion of the neurosurgical instrument into the guide tube. A seal may also be provided for sealing the fluid return path.

METHODS AND DEVICES FOR CELLULAR TRANSPLANTATION

Devices and methods for transplanting cells in a host body are described. The cell comprises a porous scaffold that allows the ingrowth of vascular and connective tissues, a plug or plug system configured for placement within the porous scaffold, and a seal configured to enclose a proximal opening in the porous scaffold. The device may further comprise a cell delivery device for delivering cells into the porous scaffold. The method of cell transplantation comprises a two step process. The device is incubated in the host body to form a vascularized collagen matrix around a plug positioned within the porous scaffold. The plug is then retracted from the porous scaffold, and cells are delivered into the vascularized space created within the porous scaffold.

Inline injection port assembly

An inline injection port assembly having a rigid tubular port body with a cap structure mounted thereto and a barbed tubing connector extending from the opposite end thereof. The cap structure has to a self-sealing elastomeric injection structure which extends into the port body and which is held in a compressed state therein. The cap structure and the barbed tubing connector are axially aligned to thereby provide a low profile inline injection port assembly.

Percutaneous drug delivery apparatus

An implantable percutaneous fluid delivery device is described that includes a subcutaneous base portion having one or more ports for supplying fluid to one or more implanted catheter devices and a percutaneous portion including an extracorporeal surface. The one or more ports of the subcutaneous base portion are accessible from the extracorporeal surface of the percutaneous portion. The subcutaneous base portion is at least partially insertable into a complementary recess formed in a bone, the subcutaneous base portion including one or more features for gripping the internal surface of such a complementary recess thereby directly anchoring the subcutaneous base portion to the bone. The device may be used to route fluid to neurosurgical catheters optionally via a router unit.

DEVICES FOR TRANSVASCULAR RETROGRADE ACCESS PLACEMENT

The present invention relates to methods of transvascular retrograde access placement and to devices that facilitate these methods. For purposes of the present invention, transvascular retrograde access placement generally comprises the insertion of a vascular catheter into a central blood vessel through the puncturing of the central blood vessel from the inside of the central blood vessel with a needle or other similarly configured device, or a needle-tipped guidewire of the present invention, and exiting that needle from the patient through the skin rather than the traditional approach of inserting a needle from the outside of the skin surface to the inside of a blood vessel.

METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR PERCUTANEOUS ACCESS
20230381481 · 2023-11-30 · ·

A percutaneous access system provides placement of an access catheter through a tissue access tract into a patient's vasculature. The system includes an access needle having a narrow width, a dilator or carrier dilator having a tapered distal end and an expanded-width proximal portion, and a radially expandable sheath having a lumen configured to receive the needle when said sheath in a radially constricted configuration. The sheath is radially expanded by advancement of the dilator or dilator carrier through the sheath lumen to allow advancement of the access catheter therethrough. In some examples, the dilator is removed prior to introducing the catheter into the expanded sheath. In other examples, the catheter is introduced in the carrier dilator that radially expands the sheath.

CATHETER PATENCY SYSTEMS AND METHODS

A patency system for maintaining a patency of an indwelling medical device including an elongated shaft configured to be at least partially received within a portion of the indwelling medical device, and at least one cleaner configured to at least partially dislodge debris formed within the indwelling medical device.

VALVING SYSTEM WITH IMPROVED FLUSHABILITY AND METHODS OF USING SAME
20220257919 · 2022-08-18 · ·

A valving device includes a body with an inlet, an outlet and an internal fluid path extending from the inlet to the outlet. Within the internal fluid path, the valving device has a valve mechanism with an open mode that allows fluid flow through the valve mechanism between the inlet and outlet and closed mode that prevents fluid flow through the valve mechanism. The valve mechanism has a first surface facing the inlet and a second surface facing the outlet. The body at least partially defines a flow corral. The flow corral(s) is/are located distal to the valve mechanism and redirect fluid passing through the valving device back toward the second surface of the valve mechanism to flush the underside of the valve mechanism.
