CONNECTOR HOUSINGS, USE OF, AND METHOD THEREFOR

A method of making a connector assembly includes attaching two stamped housing sections together to form a connector housing having a housing groove with a groove bottom and two side walls and providing the connector housings with a spring used as a mechanical connector and/or as an electrical connector for numerous applications and across numerous industries. The groove geometries can easily be altered using different stamping dies.

WAVE CONNECTOR POSITION ASSURANCE LOCK WITH DUAL OVERLAP CONNECTOR LOCK

An electrical connector assembly includes, among other things, a connector that includes a connector lock arm that is cantilevered from one side of the connector to a free end. The connector lock arm has first and second apertures that are separated by a block. The assembly further includes a connector position assurance lock that has a base that supports a wave-shaped center lock arm that is received in the connector lock arm. The center lock arm extends to a nose that has a shoulder. The connector position assurance lock is slidable between unlocked and fully locked positions that respectively correspond to the shoulder arranged in the first and second apertures. The center lock arm has a bend joined to the nose by a portion that is parallel to the connector lock arm in the unlocked and fully locked positions. The center lock arm is configured to be deflected to an improper mating position with the portion arranged non-parallel to the connector lock arm.

A connector assembly disclosed herein includes a male connector housing, female connector housing and a pin protector plate. The male connector housing includes a resilient finger having an engagement member spaced apart from an upper catch. The female connector housing includes a protruding member axially offset from a retention member. The pin protector plate is disposed between the male connector housing and the female connector housing and includes a tab and a peripheral catch. The tab projects upwardly from the base and is axially offset from the peripheral catch. The pin protector plate is movable from a locked position to a pre-stage position. Wherein the female connector housing is configured to move the pin protector in a pre-stage position when the female connector housing is removed. Accordingly, the male terminal blades remain protected during the servicing of the connector assembly.

Electronic device for hot plugging detection

An electronic device is provided. The electronic device includes a board, a first latch mechanism, and an expansion card. A controller is disposed on the board. The first latch mechanism is disposed on the board. The first latch mechanism is electrically connected to the controller. The expansion card is plugged in the first latch mechanism and disposed over the board. The expansion card is electrically connected to the controller through the first latch mechanism. The controller determines a connecting condition of the first latch mechanism according to a connecting signal provided by the expansion card.
