A cable connection system. The cable connection system includes a rack, a base, and a coupling mechanism. The rack includes a first rack surface and a second rack surface perpendicular to the first rack surface, wherein the first rack surface is perpendicular to a raised floor surface, wherein the second rack surface is on, and parallel to, the raised floor surface. The base is coupled to cables connected to the rack, wherein the base includes a first base surface, a second base surface perpendicular to the first base surface, and an array of slots into which corresponding network servers are screwed into place. The coupling mechanism couples the base with the rack during a connect mode of operation. The coupling mechanism includes a group of base connectors on the first surface of the base and a group of rack connectors on the first surface of the rack.

Fixing apparatus for cable connector and cable connector assembly using the same

A fixing apparatus for fixing at least one cable connector in a cable connector assembly includes an accommodating unit and a locking member rotatably connected to the accommodating unit. The accommodating unit includes a space accommodating the cable connector, a member fixed in the accommodating space for fixing the cable connector in place, and a first groove and a second groove. The locking member is rotatable between a locking position and an unlocking position. When the locking member is rotated to the unlocking position, the locking member is received and latched in the first groove; and when the locking member is rotated to the locking position, the locking member is received and latched in the second groove.

Each terminal has a connecting portion fixed in the insulating block, a first conduction portion extending forward from the horizontal section to be electrically connected to the first component, and a second conduction portion extending backward from the horizontal section. The second conduction portion has a bending portion, and the bending portion is connected to the horizontal section. A rear end of the shielding sheet has an abutting portion to abut the second component. The abutting portion extends backward out of an insulating body and does not pass beyond the bending portion.

The guide surface passes through a vertical center line of the insertion portion. Multiple accommodating holes run through the insulating body vertically. Multiple terminals are respectively accommodated in the accommodating holes. Each terminal is provided with two clamping portions. The guide surfaces guide the pins to be inserted downward into the accommodating holes. When each pin is inserted downward to a final position, the insertion portion is located between the two clamping portions, the two clamping portions are correspondingly in contact with the two contact regions, and the guide surface is located below the two clamping portions.

The card holding mechanism includes a slider, a spring abutting against the slider and deformable in the front-to-back direction, and a resilient locking device. The locking device includes a securing part retained to the slider, a resilient arm extending from the securing part with a locking protrusion for engagement within a locking notch of the electrical card. The slider provides an abutment face. The free end of the locking arm is adapted to abut against the abutment face when the electrical card is inserted into or withdrawn from the receiving cavity to outwardly deflect the resilient arm.

The inlet part in a position attached to the housing part is connected in a positive-locking manner to the housing part via at least one second latching element. The locking frame is movable from the first mounting position relative to the inlet part to a second mounting position.

A connector system includes a connector body defining a terminal cavity and a first and second groove each extending along an outer surface of the connector body and a terminal retainer attached to the connector body and moveable from a pre-staged position to a staged position. The terminal retainer retains a terminal within the cavity in the staged position. The terminal retainer has a base, a pair of first cantilevered arms extending from the base, a crossbar extending between the first arms defining a first latch feature, and a second cantilevered arm extending from the crossbar. The second arm is between the pair of first arms and defines a second latch feature. The first latch feature engages the first groove in the pre-staged position and the second groove in the staged position. The second latch feature engages the first groove in the staged position.
