A connector with a direct locking and a rotational pre-ejection function is provided. The connector includes an insulated body, a plurality of terminals, an inner shell, an outer shell, a snap ring, a plurality of fasteners, an ejector, a first elastic element, and a second elastic element. The outer shell has a cam surface, the ejector has an abutting portion, and the abutting portion is in contact with the cam surface. When the connector and a mating connector are inserted into each other, snap bodies of the fasteners and fastener bodies of the mating connector can be snapped into each other to be directly locked. When the connector and the mating connector are to be separated from each other, the snap bodies of the fasteners and the fastener bodies of the mating connector can be separated from each other to be directly unlocked.

CONNECTOR WITH INTEGRATED PRIMARY LOCK REINFORCEMENT AND TERMINAL POSITION ASSURANCE
20220052483 · 2022-02-17 ·

A connector assembly comprises a resilient primary lock for securing a wire terminal with a housing, a primary lock reinforcement (PLR) device, and a PLR actuator for moving the PLR device between pre- and fully-staged configurations. The PLR device is configured to move in response to contact by the PLR actuator as the housing components are mated together. The PLR actuator includes an elongated, tapered finger that wedges against the PLR device during housing mating. A method of reinforcing a primary lock of a connector assembly is also described.

PLUG

COUPLER CONNECTOR AND CABLE TERMINATOR WITH SIDE CONTACTS

An assembly comprising a cable terminator comprising a wire guide, a cube shaped securing cap comprising an open end for installation over the wire guide, and pairs of piercing contacts for piercing respective conductors of the cable. When assembled, an outer end of each of the piercing contacts is exposed on an outer surface of a respective securing cap sidewall. The assembly also comprises a coupler connector comprising one of a modular (for example RJ-45 compatible) socket or a modular (for example RJ-45 compatible) plug, a rearward surface comprising a cable terminator receiving socket, wherein pairs of contacts are exposed along at least one side wall of the socket, and further wherein each of a plurality of the tines in the modular socket or the terminal contacts of the plug is interconnected with a respective one of the contacts. When the cable terminator is inserted into the cable terminator receiving socket, each of the piercing contacts comes into contact with a respective one of the contacts, thereby interconnecting each of the tines (or each of the terminal contacts) with a respective one of the conductors. A back-to-back connector is also disclosed.

PLUG-IN CONNECTOR WITH LATCHING ELEMENT
20170250503 · 2017-08-31 ·

A plug-in connector comprises a first connecting part with at least one first contact element and a second connecting part with at least one second contact element. The first connecting part is configured for being connected with and disconnected from the second connecting part. The first connecting part comprises a latching element with a snap-in member, and the second connecting part comprises a retaining sleeve configured for accepting the latching element. The latching pin and the retaining sleeve constitute a mechanical mechanism provided in addition to the at least one first contact element and the at least one second contact element. A mechanical interaction between the latching pin and the retaining sleeve enforces a predetermined motion pattern of the at least one first contact element relative to the at least one second contact element during a process of connecting or disconnecting the first connecting part and the second connecting part.

SECURITY DEVICE FOR DATA COMPONENT
20170249484 · 2017-08-31 ·

A security device for preventing the use of a data sending/receiving component having a connector and positioned in a computer housing includes a locking member. The locking member has a sidewall defining an interior space. A plurality of tabs extends from the sidewall towards an end of the locking member. The tabs are deflectable relative to the sidewall. The tabs of the locking member have a deflected condition in which the tabs extend a first angle from the sidewall to allow for movement of the locking member into the data sending/receiving component in a first direction and an installed condition in which the tabs extend a second angle greater than the first angle to prevent removal of the locking member from the data sending/receiving component. The locking member is incapable of returning to the deflected condition once in the installed condition by accessing the end of the locking member.
