Plug connector with a connector position assurance device and connector assembly including the same

A plug connector with a connector position assurance device adapted for being docked with a socket connector, includes a main body, a plurality of terminals, a plurality of cables connected with the plurality of the terminals, and a connector position assurance device. The main body has a plurality of terminal slots. A top of the main body is bent frontward to form a buckling portion. The main body is spaced from the buckling portion and the two locking portions to form a locating space among the main body, the buckling portion and the two locking portions. The plurality of the terminals are assembled in the plurality of the terminal slots. The connector position assurance device has an abutting block. When the plug connector with a connector position assurance device is inserted into the socket connector, the abutting block moves into the locating space.

MSL connector series

Connector apparatus having a female connector assembly and a male connector assembly. The female connector assembly includes a female housing, a connector position assurance (CPA) member for assuring the engagement of the male connector assembly with the female connector assembly, and a first terminal position assurance (TPA) member for assuring that terminals for the female connector assembly are positioned properly. The female housing further includes a connector latch used to securely hold together a connector apparatus. The female housing has TPA protection ribs and CPA protection walls. The male housing has TPA protection ribs.

Electrical plug latching systems and related methods are disclosed. According to an aspect, an electrical plug latching system includes a base having an interface for attachment to an electrical plug receptacle. The base defines an opening for receipt of an electrical plug for electrical connection to the electrical plug receptacle. The electrical plug defines a protrusion. Further, the system includes a latch that is attached to the base and that includes a gripper portion. The gripper portion is moveable between a first position and a second position with respect to the base. In the first position, the gripper portion is positioned to interface with the protrusion of the electrical plug to hold the electrical plug in place when electrically connected to the electrical plug receptacle. In the second position. the gripper portion is positioned apart from the protrusion of the electrical plug.

Connector

A connector is provided with a housing including a lock arm and a detector movable to a standby position and a detection position with respect to the housing. The detector includes a locking piece to be locked to the lock arm at the standby position before both housings are connected. At least one of the detector and the housing includes a locking strengthening portion for displacing the detector in a direction to increase a locking engagement of the locking piece and the lock arm in a part configured to slide in contact with the other when the detector moves from the standby position to the detection position.

Each blocking pin has a cylindrical body extending in the second direction and is sized for insertion into an associated contact receiving passageway of the plug assembly. Each latching pin extends in the second direction and is configured to cooperate with the plug assembly to inhibit separation of the cavity plug from the plug assembly.
