CONNECTOR WITH SHIELDED TERMINALS

Input/output (I/O) connectors (1) for conducting data at high data rates, (e.g. 112 gigabits per second or more) are provided with protective shields (4, 5, 6) to provide increased mechanical strength and signal integrity.

CONNECTOR

Provided is a connector with which it is possible to suppress increases in manufacturing cost and to adjust transmission characteristics. The connector comprises: a housing (10) having an accommodation section (11) and attachment parts (12, 13, 14, 15); a terminal fitting (40) accommodated in the accommodation section (11); and shield members (50, 51) attached to the attachment parts (12, 13, 14, 15), the shield members (50, 51) shielding electromagnetic waves. The attachment parts (12, 13, 14, 15) are provided in a plurality of positions at differing distances from the accommodation section (11). For example, the attachment parts (12, 13, 14, 15) form a groove shape, one end thereof opening on one surface of the housing (10).

Contact Device, in Particular a Coaxial Contact Device

A contact device includes a first contact element extending along a straight line and a second contact element inclined with respect to the first contact element. The first contact element has a connecting body extending along the straight line, a first contact portion, and a flap. The first contact portion has a first contact socket. The flap is connected to a first fixed end at a first side of the connecting body. The first contact portion is connected to the connecting body. The flap extends along the first straight line to the first contact portion and a free end of the flap is arranged at a distance from the first contact portion. The second contact element has a second contact portion engaging the first contact socket and electrically contacting the first contact portion.

BACKPLANE CONNECTOR WITH IMPROVED MOUNTING BLOCK

A backplane connector includes a housing, a number of terminal modules assembled to the housing, and a mounting block. The housing includes a base, a first side wall and a second side wall. Each terminal module includes a first signal terminal and a second signal terminal. The first signal terminal has a first mounting foot, and the second signal terminal has a second mounting foot. The housing includes a receiving groove at a bottom end of the base. The mounting block is received in the receiving groove. The mounting block is made of electroplated plastic. The mounting block has an opening for the first mounting foot and the second mounting foot to extend through. As a result, the backplane connector has a better shielding effect.

Controlled-impedance compliant cable termination

A controlled-impedance cable assembly for removably attaching a controlled-impedance cable to a surface of a device. Signal contacts are attached to signal conductors of cables and ground members are coupled to shields of the cables. Ends of the signal conductors and of elongated appendages extending from the ground members are positioned to make a pressure contact to pads and ground lands on the surface. Pressure to make those contacts may come from deflection of the ends of the signal conductors and elongated ground appendages or from a spring. The signal contacts and elongated appendages may be positioned to provide an impedance matching an impedance with the cables.

CONNECTOR AND CONNECTOR SET

A connector includes a plurality of inner terminals and an outer terminal. The plurality of inner terminals are arrayed with intervals therebetween in a direction. The plurality of inner terminals are terminals that are connected to a ground potential. The outer terminal is disposed around the group of the plurality of arrayed inner terminals and are connected to a ground potential. The outer terminal includes side wall members that are shaped so as to extend in the direction and be parallel to the plurality of inner terminals. The inner terminals include connection parts that are connected to the side wall members.
