PERCUTANEOUS ACCESS PATHWAY SYSTEM
An improved method and device are provided for forming and/or maintaining a percutaneous access pathway. The device generally comprises an access pathway and attachment device. The provided assembly substantially reduces the possibility of iatrogenic infection while accessing and/or re-accessing a body space.
SINGLE USE CAPS AND COVERS FOR VASCULAR ACCESS DEVICES, AND KITS AND METHODS FOR USING THE SAME
This invention concerns improved single use caps or covers for vascular access devices such as needlefree connectors that are used, for example, in intravenous administration sets and extension sets. Removal of a single use cap or cover according to the invention from a vascular access device destroys the cap such that it cannot be reused. Such single use caps and covers will help ensure compliance with infection prevention protocols in healthcare settings, which will assist in reducing the incidence of healthcare-associated infections (HAIs), particularly catheter-related blood stream infections. Assemblies and kits its including such caps and covers, for example, IV administration and extension sets that include one or more needlefree connectors, as well as methods for using such caps and covers, are also described.
Delivery Adapter
A delivery adapter which may be used as an interface between a syringe and a catheter hub is described.
Medical device
A device for positioning a subcutaneous port during an access procedure, said device comprising a dome (1) of plastic material, said dome being shaped to fit directly over the subcutaneous port, and a flange (3) extending laterally from the dome which is able to contact a surrounding skin area, wherein the device is a unitary device which is configured to be deformable or fracturable so as to facilitate removal of the device from the surrounding skin area.
AN ANTIMICROBIAL DEVICE FOR AN INSERTION NEEDLE
The disclosed antimicrobial device securely attaches to an underlying substrate such that the insertion needle can puncture though the antimicrobial device for easy application and antimicrobial protection of the insertion needle. The antimicrobial device comprises a contact dressing with a contact dressing first surface and contact dressing second surface, opposite the contact dressing first surface. The contact dressing first surface has an adhesive and an antimicrobial agent. The insertion needle is inserted through the contact dressing. The adhesive and antimicrobial agent are on the contact dressing first surface adjacent the inserted insertion needle.
Injection port dressing assembly
An injection port dressing assembly for covering an injection port in a patient includes a dressing that is positionable around an injection port in a patient to inhibit bacteria from accessing the injection port. The dressing has a tube opening therein to accommodate an injection tube from the injection port. A dome is provided and the dome is coupled to the dressing to cover the injection port when the dressing is placed on the patient. The dome is comprised of a translucent material to facilitate the injection port to be visible through the dome. An adhesive layer is coupled to the dressing to adhesively engage the patient's skin.
Apparatus and Method for Intracranial Drug Injection
The present disclosure provides an apparatus for intracranial drug injection including a body unit having a through-hole extending between a first opening in a topmost surface and a second opening in a bottommost surface, a cap unit having a shape corresponding to at least a part of an inner surface of the through-hole and being inserted into the first opening to cover the first opening, and a tube unit having one end coupled to the second opening and another end extending toward an affected brain lesion.
DEVICES FOR USE WITH SURGICALLY CREATED ORIFICES
A device for connecting and transferring contents between a surgically created first orifice and a surgically created second orifice is provided. The device comprises a hollow body member and first and second tubular legs depending from the hollow body, and being adapted for insertion into the first and second surgically created orifices respectively. The device further comprises a cap for closing the hollow body and completing a sealed pathway between the tubular legs for passively conveying contents between the first and second surgically created orifices. Sealing features of the device are provided that in combination operate to keep the contents away from unwanted skin areas and/or provide an easy-to-use device.
Tamper resistant catheter device
A tamper resistant catheter device preventing unauthorized access, while permitting authorized intravenous medications through an inlet port. The device comprises a catheter line retainer having a base supporting the catheter line, a lumen adaptor engaged with the catheter line, and a locking clamp for clamping the catheter line within the catheter line retainer. An installation tool is provided having a breakaway handle and a locking cap for covering the lumen adaptor. Finally, a slotted retaining sleeve is installed using the breakaway handle of the installation tool for engagement with the locking cap and around the lumen adaptor. The slotted retaining sleeve engages the locking clamp to block removal of the locking clamp from the line retainer. Once the slotted retaining sleeve and locking cap are installed, the breakaway handle is removed. A removal tool disengages the locking cap from the slotted retaining sleeve for authorized access.
ACCESS CLOSURE DEVICE
An access closure device for closing an opening in tissue is provided. The access closure device may comprise a balloon delivery system and a sealant delivery system. The balloon delivery system may comprise a suture, a delivery shaft, an inflatable balloon, and a balloon segment releasably attached to the delivery shaft. The sealant delivery system may comprise a sealant delivery shaft, an ejection tube, and a snare wire configured to snare a suture of the delivery system.
