Cable assembly and method for producing an electric and mechanical connection

A cable assembly having at least three electric cables which have electric conductors that are electrically and mechanically connected together. Each of the electric conductors is free of an insulation material and is plate-shaped in a contact point. One of the cables is a carrier cable, and the electric conductor of the carrier cable is formed as a support plate at the contact point in order to attach the contact points of the other electric conductors. Multiple contact points of the other electric conductors are secured to a surface of the support plate next to one another.

Electrical connector with wires soldered upon contact tails and embedded within insulator

A first terminal module and a second terminal module are integrally assembled with the base, and each of the first terminal module and the second terminal module includes the insulator and the corresponding terminals embedded therein. The first terminal module and the second terminal module are stacked with each other with a metallic shielding plate therebetween. The shielding plate includes front spring fingers and rear spring fingers respectively mechanically and electrically connected with the contacting sections and connecting sections of the respective grounding terminals.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR AUTOMATIC ROBOTIC CABLE CONNECTOR ASSEMBLY USING A CARTRIDGE

An automatic-robotic-system-for-cable assembly system and method is provided. The method and system are configured to use a cartridge which holds one or both ends of the cable. The cartridge moves along an automatic cable assembly line, with the line segmented into different stages, at which a process is performed by a specific machine. Different machines, such as actuators or modular machines, perform operations on the cartridge at the different stages. In preparation for or as part of the operations, the actuators or modular machines may apply one or more forces to the cartridge, causing one or more of the following to occur: moving an end of the cartridge to a modular machine, rotating an end of the cable, tipping the ends of the cable, etc. In this way, use of the cartridge enables the automatic assembly of the cables held in the cartridge.

Device for Soldering Wires to an LED Lighting Strip

The invention is a hand-held portable device for soldering electrical wires to an LED lighting strip. The device comprises mechanisms for positioning and securing LED strip contact pads, wires, and solder in position in proximity to a heating element. When the heating element is engaged, solder is melted and forms a bead which connects the wires to the LED strip contact pads. Various configurations of the device are described, as are methods of using such devices to connect LED strips to power sources.

Protection of device from electrostatic discharge (ESD) damage

A first dissipative adhesive (DA) is connected to at least a portion of leads that are exposed in a first plane of a flexible cable in a coverage area. A second DA is connected over at least a portion of the first DA. A third DA is connected to a ground and over a fourth DA. A servo connection is electrically connected to a grounding tab via the third DA. A common bus bar is connected to the portion of the leads via the second DA.

HIGH-SPEED CONNECTOR INSERTS AND CABLES

High speed connector inserts and cables having improved heat conduction, high strength, and may be manufactured in a reliable manner. One example may provide a connector insert having several paths by which heat may be removed from circuitry in the cable insert. In one example, heat may be removed from one or more circuits by forming a thermal path between a circuit and a shield of the connector insert. Another path may include one or more pads on a side of an integrated circuit board that are soldered directly to the shield. A braiding surrounding a cable may be soldered or otherwise thermally connected to the shield. Another example may provide a cable having a braiding that includes one or more types of fibers, such as aramid fibers. Another example may provide for increased manufacturability by using a wire comb and a solder bar.
