ACCESS SHEATH WITH VALVE ASSEMBLY
An access sheath and method of assembling the access sheath. The access sheath includes a hub, a cartridge carried by the hub, the cartridge having a first valve, a second valve spaced from the first valve along a central axis, and a spacer disposed between the first valve and the second valve, wherein the first valve and the second valve each have at least two slits that extend along, and twist about, the central axis, and a shaft assembly having a shaft hub and a shaft that extends from the shaft hub in the distal direction. The access sheath provides a liquid-tight seal when receiving the introducer and other devices to prevent leakage and blood loss and to decrease device insertion forces.
BLOOD CONTROL IV CATHETER WITH STATIONARY SEPTUM ACTIVATOR
A system and method is provided for applying an anti-pathogenic material to various surfaces of a medical device, wherein the method includes identifying various surfaces of the medical tests which include noncritical dimensions, and limiting the application of the anti-pathogenic material to those surfaces. Some aspects of the invention further include the application of an anti-pathogenic lubricant material to various parts or components of a medical device to reduce friction.
Catheter assemblies with valves and related methods
Needle assemblies with valves and related methods are disclosed. An exemplary needle assembly includes a needle hub with a needle attached to a distal end of the needle hub and a catheter hub having a wall structure defining an interior cavity and a catheter tube extending distally therefrom having the needle projecting through the catheter tube. A valve with a cylindrical walled structure and a disc with a plurality of slits and flaps are located in the interior cavity of the catheter hub in which the cylindrical walled structure defines an open proximal end. A plurality of flexible ribs can be included and connect to an interior wall surface of the cylindrical walled structure and the disc with an actuator disposed inside the interior cavity of the catheter hub and having a distal end sized and shaped to project into the open proximal end of the valve.
VALVE FOR DILATOR AND SHEATH ASSEMBLY
A valve for sealing the hub of a sheath assembly is provided. The valve includes a valve body having a solid thickness extending between a proximal surface and a distal surface. A bisecting slot extends across the proximal surface of the valve body and terminates at a depth less than the thickness of the valve body such that a portion of the valve body distally of the slot defines a bridge extending between opposed halves of the valve body such that the distal surface of the valve body is substantially continuous and a central portion of the proximal surface of the valve body is concave and defines a concave proximal portion.
Method and Devices for Implantation of Biologic Constructs
Systems for delivering a sheet-like implant including a means of deploying and orienting the sheet-like implant within the body.
CATHETER HUB ADAPTED TO BE USED WITH MULTIUSE BLOOD CONTROL VALVE
A catheter hub of a safety needle assembly that includes a multiuse valve uses a proximal portion of the catheter as an actuator to open the partition membrane of the valve when the valve is subjected to an external biasing force. In another embodiment, the actuator is formed as an integral component of the catheter hub.
Kit of parts including a urological device
A kit of parts includes a urological device and a catheter. The urological device has a stem defining a lumen, a valve connected to a proximal portion of the stem and located in the lumen, and a head part connected to the stem and extending radially around the valve. The catheter is adapted to insert the urological device into a urethra of a user.
CATHETER SYSTEM FACILITATING BLOOD FLASHBACK VISUALIZATION
A catheter system may a catheter assembly, which may include a catheter adapter and a catheter. The catheter system may also include a needle assembly, which may include a needle hub and an introducer needle. A proximal end of the introducer needle may be secured within the needle hub, and a distal end of the introducer needle may extend beyond a distal end of the catheter. The catheter system may include a vent plug. A distal end of the vent plug may include a male luer adapter, which may include a cannula and a collar surrounding the cannula. The cannula may include a cavity to receive blood flowing proximally through the introducer needle. A proximal end of the cavity may be formed by a wall extending across the cannula and disposed within the needle hub. The cannula may be inserted into proximal end of the needle hub.
HEMOSTASIS VALVE
A hemostasis valve for use with catheters in intravascular procedures. The hemostasis valve comprising a sealable fluid channel that bifurcates from a single distal lumen to two proximal lumens. An upper proximal lumen may include a funnel shaped opening to improve aspiration potential. Rotating locking mechanisms are attachable at the ends of the hemostasis valve to interlock coaxial devices or to form seals around coaxial devices. Injection molding may be used to manufacture a hemostasis valve and its components. A mold and core pins may impart external and internal shapes to a molten polymer. Once the polymer has cooled, the molded component is separated from any pins or molds and attached to other molded components to form an assembled hemostasis valve.
