CATHETER ASSEMBLY LOCK
A medical device for use with a catheter assembly including an elongated catheter coaxially disposed within a sheath is disclosed. The medical device includes a deformable tube having a proximal end, a distal end, an outer wall with an outer diameter, and an inner wall forming an axial lumen. The distal end attaches to the sheath, and the proximal end receives the catheter into the lumen. The medical device also includes a opposing paddles disposed against the outer wall, each of the opposing paddles having a generally planar lock region to be disposed against outer wall at the outer diameter, the lock surface tangential to the deformable tube.
Inserting member fixing device
This device is an inserting member fixing device to fix a linear inserting member to an insertion target, the inserting member fixing device comprising: a main body; a chuck portion; an inner sealing portion to be brought into close contact with an outer periphery of the inserting member; an inserting member supporting portion to support the inserting member; and a movement restricting portion to restrict movement of the inner sealing portion and the inserting member supporting portion. The inserting member supporting portion and the inner sealing portion are provided adjacent to each other in an axial direction of the inserting member, and a space is provided between the inserting member supporting portion and the inner sealing portion so that a main body-side end portion of the inserting member supporting portion is displaceable when the inserting member swings.
VALVE GASKET AND HEMOSTASIS VALVES AND CANNULA UNITS INCORPORATING THE SAME
A gasket for a hemostasis valve includes an annular wall, a membrane, a central protrusion on the membrane, and a plurality of ligaments attached to the central protrusion extending radially to the annular wall. The membrane, central protrusion, and ligaments are divided by slits into a plurality of flaps, with each flap bounded along an outer circumferential edge by the annular wall, along an inner circumferential edge by the central protrusion, and along its radial edges by segments of the ligaments. Two such gaskets can be arranged, back-toback, in a hemostasis valve. To facilitate such assembly, each gasket can include a plurality of positioning protrusions extending axially and a plurality of positioning recesses set into a circumferential surface, with the protrusions and recesses having complementary shapes for proper interconnection and fit between gaskets.
Hemostasis Valves and Methods for Making and Using Hemostasis Valves
Hemostasis valves and methods for making and using hemostasis valves are disclosed. An example hemostasis valve may include a main body having a distal end region and a proximal end region. A first seal member may be disposed within the proximal end region of the main body. A plunger may be coupled to the proximal end region of the main body. The plunger may be designed to shift between a first position and a second position. A first locking member may be disposed along the proximal end region of the main body. A second locking member may be disposed along the plunger. The second locking member may be designed to engage the first locking member.
HEMOSTASIS VALVES AND METHODS OF USE
Devices, systems, and methods for sealing medical devices, particularly during intravascular access, are disclosed herein. Some aspects relate to a hemostatic valve for sealing a wide range of medical devices, such as catheters, wires, embolectomy systems. The valve can include an elongate member having a first end, a second end, and a central lumen extending therebetween. A reinforcement structure extends along at least a portion of the elongate member and is coupled to the elongate member. A shell defining a first aperture and a second aperture may be included, which first and second apertures can be fluidly coupled by the elongate member. A tensioning mechanism is coupled to the shell and to the elongate member, the tensioning mechanism can be moveable between a first configuration wherein the tensioning mechanism is collapsed and the central lumen is sealed and a second configuration wherein the central lumen is open.
Catheter sheath introducer with rotational lock
A sheath introducer for use with a catheter, has a hub and a tube through which the catheter extends, and a lock assembly which has a rotational knob that actuates a plurality of prongs arranged in a radial pattern around a hole in the hub that receives the catheter, wherein the prongs synchronously rotate in one direction to grip the catheter or in the other direction to release the catheter.
Valve assembly for medical procedures
The invention relates to a valve used in medical procedures. More specifically the invention relates to an introducer sheath valve used in minimally invasive and conventional surgical procedures. The valve may accommodate a wide range of surgical implement diameters, shapes, and multiple implements without imposing the high frictional forces of known valves.
DEFLECTABLE CATHETER WITH COMPOUND CURVE ARTICULATION AND MATERIALS FOR THE SAME
Deflectable catheters, hemostasis valves, and materials for the same are disclosed. The deflectable catheters and hemostasis valves can be made at least partially, if not entirely, from a fluoroelastomer and ePTFE combination. A deflectable region of the catheters can be articulated to form simple and/or complex curves.
Medical valve with a variable diameter seal
A medical valve assembly includes a tube extending between a first tube end and a second tube end to define a passageway extending along a longitudinal axis between the ends. A plunger plate extends radially from the second tube end of the tube, and a valve housing surrounds the tube about the second tube end and extends from a first valve housing end to a second valve housing end. The valve housing includes a housing flange extending radially inwardly from the second valve housing end and disposed in spaced relationship with the plunger plate to define a distance dimension D extending therebetween. An elastomeric seal is compressed between the plunger plate and the housing flange, and one of the valve housing and the tube is axially movable relative to the other to vary the distance between said plunger plate and said housing flange and adjust an inner diameter of the elastomeric seal.
TROCAR
An obturator includes an elongate shaft extending between a proximal end and a distal end, the elongate shaft having an opening at the proximal end and defining an elongate cavity which is sized and shaped to receive an optical instrument. The obturator is provided with an axially extending finger for radial movement inwardly to engage the outer surface of the optical instrument located within the elongate cavity. The finger may be a latch member with a latch element and able to be moved between a first position, in which the latch element is located relatively radially inward, and a second position in which the latch element is located relatively radially outward. With the obturator located within a cannula body, an instrument inserted into the obturator causes the latch element of the latch member to engage with the cannula to prevent relative axial movement therebetween.
