Adjustable seal
A medical device is adapted to seal around elongate shafts of varying diameter therethrough. The medical device includes a plurality of elastomeric sealing members together defining a variable dimension aperture, a chuck body, and a chuck ring that is rotatably secured relative to the chuck body. The medical device is adapted such that rotating the chuck ring in a first direction causes the plurality of elastomeric sealing members to move closer together, thereby reducing a size of the variable dimension aperture, and rotating the chuck ring in a second direction causes the plurality of elastomeric sealing members to move farther apart, thereby increasing a size of the variable dimension aperture.
Introducer sheath systems and methods
Introducer sheath systems including a pressure regulator operably coupled to a hemostatic valve, wherein the pressure regulator includes a chamber filled with a gas that is fluidly isolated from the hemostatic valve. The introducer sheath systems may include a tubular sheath, a hub assembly, and a dilator disposed therein connected to a proximal end of the sheath; the hub assembly including a housing and a hemostatic valve disposed therein; a pressure regulator connected to the hub and in fluid communication with the hemostatic valve; and a sealed chamber defined by the pressure regulator, the chamber having an interior, wherein the interior of the chamber is filled with a gas that is fluidly isolated from the hemostatic valve.
SHEATH ASSEMBLY FOR INSERTION OF A CORD-SHAPED ELEMENT, PARTICULARLY A CATHETER, INTO THE BODY OF A PATIENT
Sheath assembly for the insertion of a cord-shaped element, comprising an introducer sheath, and an auxiliary sheath for insertion into the introducer sheath together with the cord-shaped element. In some examples, the auxiliary sheath has a housing configured to detachably couple to the introducer sheath housing, and to detachably fasten the cord-shaped element with respect to the auxiliary sheath housing.
Multi-use blood control safety catheter assembly
A catheter assembly comprises a catheter (18), a needle (12) having a sharp distal tip disposed within the catheter (18), a catheter hub (14) connected to the catheter (18) having the needle (12) passing therethrough, the catheter hub (14) including a valve (38) that selectively permits or blocks a flow of fluid through the catheter (18), a valve actuator (54) that moves between a first position and a second position, and a return member (56) that returns the valve actuator (54) from the second position to the first position, and a needle protection member (176) that encloses the sharp distal tip of the needle (12).
FILM TUBE FOR AN INTRODUCER SHEATH ASSEMBLY
A valve assembly comprising an outer tube, and an inner tube arranged at least partially within the outer tube member, the inner tube is formed of a compliant material and extending along a longitudinal axis between a first end and a second end, and a center portion located between the first and second ends, the center portion defining a center portion outer diameter, a first end ring defining a first end ring outer diameter, the first end ring being defined by a first segment of the inner tube adjacent the first end that has been fixed in a longitudinally compressed state to define the first end ring outer diameter, the first end ring outer diameter being greater than the center portion outer diameter.
PRESSURE-SENSING BLEED-BACK CONTROL VALVE WITH IMPROVED SEALING
A bleed-back control valve is provided having a sidearm and an integrated three-way stopcock switching between two alternative fluid paths. One of the alternative fluid paths communicates with an inline pressure transducer embedded in the wall of the sidearm. The bleed-back control valve also includes a purge valve located near the blunted apex of a conical seal located in the main valve body. The purge may be opened to expel air from the space around the blunted apex.
