The valve assembly includes a seal assembly including an outer flange and a septum seal extending across the outer flange, a guard assembly disposed within the outer flange of the seal assembly, and a centering mechanism. The guard assembly includes a plurality of guard members. Each guard member of the plurality of guard members includes a ring portion and a flap portion. The flap portions of the guard members of the guard assembly are configured to engage and stretch the septum seal during reception of a surgical instrument through the valve assembly.
SHEATH ASSEMBLY FOR INSERTION OF A CORD-SHAPED ELEMENT, PARTICULARLY A CATHETER, INTO THE BODY OF A PATIENT
Sheath assembly for the insertion of a cord-shaped element, comprising an introducer sheath, and an auxiliary sheath for insertion into the introducer sheath together with the cord-shaped element. In some examples, the auxiliary sheath has a housing configured to detachably couple to the introducer sheath housing, and to detachably fasten the cord-shaped element with respect to the auxiliary sheath housing.
Hemostasis valves and methods of use
Devices, systems, and methods for sealing medical devices, particularly during intravascular access, are disclosed herein. Some aspects relate to a hemostatic valve for sealing a wide range of medical devices, such as catheters, wires, embolectomy systems. The valve can include an elongate member having a first end, a second end, and a central lumen extending therebetween. A reinforcement structure extends along at least a portion of the elongate member and is coupled to the elongate member. A shell defining a first aperture and a second aperture may be included, which first and second apertures can be fluidly coupled by the elongate member. A tensioning mechanism is coupled to the shell and to the elongate member, the tensioning mechanism can be moveable between a first configuration wherein the tensioning mechanism is collapsed and the central lumen is sealed and a second configuration wherein the central lumen is open.

Method of Dialysis of Blood
The present disclosure provides a method for hemodialysis of blood, comprising providing a hemodialysis catheter having a low recirculation distal tip, a first and a second extension tubes that are configured to be connected to a dialysis machine, providing a hemodialysis machine with an arterial patient connector and a venous patient connector; conducting hemodialysis with the first extension tube connects to the arterial patient connector of the dialysis machine, and the second extension tube connects to the venous patient connector of the dialysis machine; and periodically reversing the first and second extension tubes connections to the arterial and venous patient connectors of the dialysis machine in a subsequent hemodialysis. The present disclosure also provides a hemodialysis catheter, comprising a switchable connection indicator indicating connection to arterial or venous flow path. The switchable connection indicator can be integrated with a clamp.
OVER-THE-NEEDLE INTRAVENOUS INTRODUCER ASSEMBLY
An assembly, comprising a catheter hub defining a hub cavity extending axially between proximal and distal ends of the catheter hub, a female luer connector extending from within the proximal end of the catheter hub, a catheter tube extending from within the distal end of the catheter hub and a pinch valve body axially movable in the hub cavity and defining a valve conduit that fluidly connects the female luer connector and the catheter tube, wherein the pinch valve body has a distal end sheathed over the catheter tube, and a proximal end comprising proximal and distal pinch valves, wherein the female luer connector has internal pinch surfaces configured so that axial movement of the pinch valve body in the hub cavity positively opens and closes the proximal and distal pinch valves in predetermined succession or order as either a needle is proximally withdrawn from the catheter tube, or a male luer connector is distally inserted into, or proximally withdrawn from, the female luer connector.
Valve assembly for medical procedures
The invention relates to a valve used in medical procedures. More specifically the invention relates to an introducer sheath valve used in minimally invasive and conventional surgical procedures. The valve may accommodate a wide range of surgical implement diameters, shapes, and multiple implements without imposing the high frictional forces of known valves.
Multi-use blood control safety catheter assembly
A valve actuator that moves in a catheter assembly between a first position where a valve is closed and a second position where the valve is open, the valve actuator including a shaft portion at a distal end of the valve actuator that is configured to pierce the valve, a mating portion at a proximal end of the valve actuator that is configured to engage a Luer device, a diameter reduction region that connects the shaft portion and the mating portion, and a plurality of windows that extend through the valve actuator for flushing fluid, the plurality of windows being disposed in the diameter reduction region, wherein each of the plurality of windows does not extend a full length of the diameter reduction region.
ASYMMETRIC SHAFT SEAL
An integral seal system includes a body that defines a central opening, and an asymmetric seal extending into the central opening and including a diaphragm and an annular flange that extends between the body and the diaphragm, wherein the diaphragm has a cross-sectional thickness larger than a cross-sectional thickness of the annular flange. A duckbill seal extends distally from a bottom of the body and defines one or more parting lines that separate opposing seal flaps. The diaphragm complements insertion and extraction drag forces generated by the duckbill seal against a surgical tool shaft extended therethrough such that total insertion and extraction drag forces generated by the integral seal system are equalized.
