Pluggable optical receptors are configured in such a manner that an optical fiber is insertable into and removable from the pluggable optical receptors, and configured to be capable of outputting the optical signal to the optical fiber and transferring the optical signal received thorough the optical fiber to the optical reception unit.
SURFACE EMITTING LASER ELEMENT ARRAY, LIGHT EMITTING DEVICE, OPTICAL DEVICE, MEASUREMENT DEVICE, AND INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS
A surface emitting laser element array includes multiple two-dimensionally arranged surface-emitting laser element groups each including multiple surface-emitting laser elements. The multiple surface-emitting laser element groups are drivable independently of each other. The multiple surface-emitting laser element groups are arranged in an arrangement region such that the number of surface-emitting laser element groups arranged in a first direction is larger than the number of surface-emitting laser element groups arranged in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction. An irradiation region irradiated with light emitted from the multiple surface-emitting laser element groups has a shape elongated in the first direction. The arrangement region in which the multiple surface-emitting laser element groups are arranged has an aspect ratio closer to 1:1 than the irradiation region.
OPTICAL DEVICE INCLUDING LATERALLY GUIDED VERTICAL-CAVITY SURFACE-EMITTING LASERS (VCSELS) OUTPUTS AND RELATED METHODS
An optical device may include a substrate and vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasers (VCSELs) on the substrate. The optical device may also include a coupling layer over the substrate and that includes optical guides aligned with the VCSELs to guide outputs thereof from a vertical path direction to a lateral path direction. The optical device also includes controllable delay elements, each controllable delay element associated with a respective optical guide, and a controller coupled to the controllable delay elements.
DOT PROJECTOR INCLUDING HYBRID REFRACTIVE-DIFFRACTIVE OPTICAL ELEMENTS
A dot projector may include a vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser (VCSEL). The dot projector may include one or more collimating elements to collimate light emitted by the VCSEL. An effective focal length of the one or more collimating elements may be larger than an optics length of the dot projector. The dot projector may include an optical element including a periodic optical phase function to replicate the light after collimation by the one or more collimating elements and an aberration-correcting phase function to correct spot aberrations in a dot pattern resulting from the tiling or splitting of the light.
Apparatus and method for illumination
An apparatus has an illumination layer having an array of a plurality of illuminators, and a circuit layer having one or more drivers for controlling the plurality of illuminators. The laser layer and the circuit layer overlap at least partially, and each driver of the one or more drivers controls at least one illuminator of the plurality of illuminators.
Light emitting device
A light emitting device includes semiconductor laser elements, a frame part, a light-reflective member, a step part, metal films, wires, and a first protective element. The frame part surrounds a bottom surface on which the semiconductor laser elements are disposed. The light-reflective member is disposed on the bottom surface inside of a frame formed by the frame part. The step part is formed along a second inner lateral surface of the frame part, and disposed inside of the frame. The metal films are provided on an upper surface of the step part. The wires electrically connect the semiconductor laser elements respectively to the metal films. The first protective element is disposed on the upper surface of the step part and on a light traveling side of the laser light with respect to a plane including an emitting end surface of the first semiconductor laser element.
