RADIATION-EMITTING DEVICE
In at least one embodiment, the radiation-emitting device comprises a laser bar for emitting laser radiation. The device further includes a waveguide having a core, a cladding, an entry face, and an exit face. The device may include a heat sink having a mounting side where the waveguide is applied thereon, the cladding being arranged at least above and below the core in relation to the mounting side. The device may be configured so that, during operation, the laser radiation impinges on the entry face of the waveguide and passes from there into the core. The core may include a conversion element configured to convert the laser radiation into secondary radiation. The waveguide may be configured to guide the laser radiation and/or the secondary radiation inside the core as far as the exit face by reflection at the interface between the cladding and the core.
OPTICAL DEVICE, AND METHOD OF FABRICATING OPTICAL DEVICE
An optical device includes a metal reflective layer substantially made of a metal material, a first light transmissive layer disposed on the metal reflective layer, an optical multilayer reflective film disposed on the first light transmissive layer and including a plurality of sublayers stacked on each other and having different refractive indexes, and a wavelength converting layer disposed on the optical multilayer reflective film and containing a fluorescent material capable of absorbing incident excitation light and generating fluorescent light having a lower energy. The wavelength converting layer is capable of generating mixed light containing the excitation light and the fluorescent light in response to irradiation with the excitation light.
Light emitting device
A light emitting device includes a semiconductor light source device including a plurality of semiconductor light emitting elements, a wavelength conversion member that converts a wavelength of irradiation light from the semiconductor light source device, a concentrating lens that concentrates the irradiation light from the semiconductor light source device, and a cylindrical holder. The semiconductor light source device, the wavelength conversion member and the concentrating lens is supported by a support portion provided in an inner diameter portion of the cylindrical holder.
LIGHT EMISSION MODULE
A light emission module includes a first light emission unit that includes a first light emission device and emits first light. The first light emission device includes a plurality of first light emission portions, each including a light emission surface, where light from a plurality of first light emission elements is emitted, a heat dissipation surface provided opposite to the light emission surface, and a connection portion being positioned between the light emission surface and the heat dissipation surface and including a wiring mounting surface where the light emission elements are electrically connected. The light emission module further includes a first optical member that reflects the first light, a housing including a base member where the first light emission unit and the first optical member are disposed and a lid member surrounding the light emission device surrounding the first light emission unit and the first optical member that are disposed on the base member, and a heat sink being connected to the heat dissipation surface and including a mounting surface where the first light emission device is mounted. The wiring mounting surface extends upward upper than a first upper surface of the housing, and a portion of the wiring mounting surface is exposed to the outside of the housing.
Phosphor element and lighting device
A phosphor element includes: a phosphor part having an incident face for excitation light, an opposing face opposing the incident face, and a side face, the phosphor part converting at least a part of the excitation light incident onto the incident face into a fluorescence and emitting the fluorescence from the incident face; an integral low refractive index layer on the side face and opposing face of the phosphor part and having a refractive index lower than that of the phosphor part; and an integral reflection film covering a surface of the low refractive index layer. The area of the incident face of the phosphor part is larger than the area of the opposing face.
SEMICONDUCTOR LASER AND METHOD OF PRODUCTION FOR OPTOELECTRONIC SEMICONDUCTOR PARTS
In one embodiment the semiconductor laser comprises a carrier and an edge-emitting laser diode which is mounted on the carrier and which comprises an active zone for generating a laser radiation and a facet with a radiation exit region. The semiconductor laser further comprises a protective cover, preferably a lens for collimation of the laser radiation. The protective cover is fastened to the facet and to a side surface of the carrier by means of an adhesive. A mean distance between a light entrance side of the protective cover and the facet is at most 60 μm. The semiconductor laser is configured to be operated in a normal atmosphere without additional gas-tight encapsulation.
INTELLIGENT VISIBLE LIGHT WITH A GALLIUM AND NITROGEN CONTAINING LASER SOURCE
A smart light source configured for visible light communication. The light source includes a controller comprising a modem configured to receive a data signal and generate a driving current and a modulation signal based on the data signal. Additionally, the light source includes a light emitter configured as a pump-light device to receive the driving current for producing a directional electromagnetic radiation with a first peak wavelength in the ultra-violet or blue wavelength regime modulated to carry the data signal using the modulation signal. Further, the light source includes a pathway configured to direct the directional electromagnetic radiation and a wavelength converter optically coupled to the pathway to receive the directional electromagnetic radiation and to output a white-color spectrum. Furthermore, the light source includes a beam shaper configured to direct the white-color spectrum for illuminating a target of interest and transmitting the data signal.

The invention provides an arrangement (1) comprising a device (1000), wherein the device (1000) comprises a luminescent material comprising element (100) and a light transmissive element (200), wherein: (a) the device (1000) has a first device axis (A1); (b) the luminescent material comprising element (100) comprises a luminescent material (110) configured to emit luminescent material light (111) upon irradiation with first light (11), wherein the luminescent material comprising element (100) has a first length (L1) and a characteristic first dimension (D1) perpendicular to the first length (L1), wherein D1/L1<1; wherein the luminescent material comprising element (100) is configured at a non-zero first distance (r1) from the first device axis (A1), and wherein the luminescent material comprising element (100) at least partly surrounds the first device axis (A1); (c) the light transmissive element (200) is transmissive for the first light (11), wherein the light transmissive element (200) comprises a element light entrance part (201 and an element light escape part (202), wherein the element light escape part (202) and the luminescent material (110) are radiationally coupled; wherein one or more of the following applies: (i) the first device axis (A1) intersects the light transmissive element (200), and (ii) the light transmissive element (200) at least partly surrounds the first device axis (A1); and (d) the luminescent material comprising element (100) is in thermal contact with one or more of (a) the light transmissive element (200) and (b) an optional thermally conductive element (300).

LIGHT EMITTING DEVICE
A light emitting device includes: a package including a base portion, a frame portion, and a cover portion; a light emitting element disposed on an upper surface of the base portion, surrounded by the frame portion, and configured to emit light traveling laterally; and a wavelength conversion member disposed on the base portion and including a first lateral surface on which light emitted from a light extraction surface of the light emitting element is to be incident, and an upper surface through which light is to be emitted. The frame portion includes a light shielding portion configured to shield light in a wavelength range of the light emitted from the light emitting element. The cover portion includes a light-transmissive portion configured to transmit and cause light emitted from the upper surface of the wavelength conversion member to exit to an area outside the light emitting device.
