An intermittent, injection port assembly includes a flexible valve member of the type which is laterally deflected when moved from a closed position to an open position. A high flow non-tortuous flow passage is provided through the injection port assembly by a plurality of lateral passages bypassing a base which supports the flexible valve member.

FLUID TRANSFER ASSEMBLY WITH A JUNCTION HAVING MULTIPLE FLUID PATHWAYS

A fluid transfer assembly is described. The fluid transfer assembly includes a unitary junction having an upstream portion and a downstream portion, the unitary junction defining a plurality of curved fluid pathways between the upstream portion and the downstream portion. The assembly also includes at least one flexible fluid conduit sealed to the junction in fluid communication with at least one of the plurality of curved fluid pathways.

Methods and devices for automated sterile connection and liquid transfer between containers. The methods and devices involve welding (e.g., nest welding) to form sterile fluidical connection between the containers. The method includes: (a) placing a first tube and a second tube into a welding mount, wherein the first tube is connected to a first container and the second tube is connected to a second container, and (b) welding the first tube and the second tube to form a first sterile fluidical connection between the first container and the second container. The method also includes (c) transferring a liquid between the first container and the second container via the first sterile fluidical connection. (d) scaling and cutting the first fluidical connection between the first container and the second container to disconnect the first sterile fluidical connection. The devices executing the method can be automated by a controller.

Apparatus for connection of thermoplastic tubing

The invention discloses an apparatus for aligning and supporting a first and a second length of thermoplastic tubing, preparatory to and during cutting and welding of said lengths of tubing, that includes a first holder arranged to accommodate portions of the first and second lengths of tubing in a first and a second elongated holding space respectively, a second holder arranged to accommodate portions of the first and second lengths of tubing in a third and a fourth elongated holding space respectively, and movable in a direction essentially perpendicular to the holding spaces of the first and second holders from a cutting position, a cutting means arranged between said first and second holders for cutting said lengths of tubing when the second holder is in the cutting position and an aligning means to align these lengths of tubing with each other.

APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR MECHANICALLY OPENING A CONNECTION SITE
20180354202 · 2018-12-13 ·

Method and apparatus are disclosed for mechanically opening a heat-bonded connection site between two hollow, flexible, thermoplastic segments of a medical fluid flow path, the heat-bonded connection site having an axis. The connection site is compressed between two facing surfaces, and the facing surfaces are relatively moved to rotate the connection site about the connection site axis and to apply force to the connection site substantially perpendicular to the connection site axis.

DEVICE FOR WELDING TUBES
20180345589 · 2018-12-06 ·

A device for welding thermoplastic tubes to a welding method, and to a welding knife. The device is provided for welding thermoplastic tubes, wherein the tubes are placed into tube holders and squeezed with the aid of tube clamps. A welding knife is moved between the first and the second tube holder and severs the tubes in the process. Cut ends and residual ends are thereby produced. The cut ends are aligned with one another by a relative movement of one tube holder with respect to the other tube holder and, by a horizontal movement of the two tube holders, are welded simultaneously to form continuous tubes.

System, apparatus and method for opening a heat-bonded connection formed between two hollow, flexible thermoplastic conduits. A pressure difference is created between the inside of at least one of the conduits and the ambient atmosphere sufficient to cause expansion of a wall of the tubing conduit in the vicinity of a frangible portion at least partially blocking the connection to disrupt the frangible portion and reduce the blocking.

Radio frequency weldable multi-layer tubing and method of making the same

A RF weldable tubing is provided. The tubing has inner layer including a PVDF copolymer, or an ethylene alpha-olefin homopolymer, or an ethylene alpha-olefin polymer that may include a grafted polyethylene. The tubing may have an inter gas barrier layer sandwiched between the outer layer and an outermost layer including a TPU copolymer. The inter gas barrier layer may include an EVOH copolymer. A method of making such a tubing is also provided.
