CYCLIC UREA COMPOUNDS AS GRANZYME B INHIBITORS
An ultraviolet (UV) disinfection unit for disinfecting catheter line connections is provided. The unit can be used to disinfect solution set and transfer set catheters used for peritoneal dialysis. The unit can comprise a concavely curved bottom surface. A tubing trough of the unit can allow for ambidextrous positioning.
Medical and veterinary applications of light to antimicrobial and antineoplastic chemicals
A device having medical and veterinary applications of light to antimicrobial and antineoplastic chemicals includes a solution retainer adapted to retain a therapeutic solution against a user, the therapeutic solution including an antimicrobial chemical, an antineoplastic chemical, or both; a fiber optic cable; a light termination on the fiber optic cable that provides light from the fiber optic cable to the therapeutic solution in the solution retainer; and a light source that provides a light of a predetermined wavelength to the fiber optic cable; wherein the light provides a synergistic effect in the therapeutic solution that inhibits microbial or neoplastic growth.
CONNECTOR DISINFECTION SYSTEM
Devices, systems, and methods for disinfecting catheters used during in line catheter connections are provided. A disinfection device including one or more LED UV sources comprises a small volume kill zone. The disinfection device is configured to effectively disinfect fluid within the kill zone.
Peritoneal dialysis connection system and method for using ultraviolet light emitting diodes
Peritoneal dialysis systems and methods are provided by the present disclosure. In a general embodiment, a peritoneal dialysis system includes a peritoneal dialysis fluid supply, a supply line in fluid communication with the peritoneal dialysis fluid supply, the supply line terminating at a supply connector, a patient connector in fluid communication with a patient's indwelling catheter, and a device configured to be placed around at least one of the supply connector and the patient connector during a connection of the supply connector and the patient connector, the device including an ultraviolet (UV) transmissive material to allow UV energy to be directed inwardly through the device towards a mating surface of the at least one of the supply connector and the patient connector during the connection of the supply connector and the patient connector.
Medical and Veterinary Applications of Light to Antimicrobial and Antineoplastic Chemicals
A device having medical and veterinary applications of light to antimicrobial and antineoplastic chemicals includes a solution retainer adapted to retain a therapeutic solution against a user, the therapeutic solution including an antimicrobial chemical, an antineoplastic chemical, or both; a fiber optic cable; a light termination on the fiber optic cable that provides light from the fiber optic cable to the therapeutic solution in the solution retainer; and a light source that provides a. light of a predetermined wavelength to the fiber optic cable; wherein the light provides a synergistic effect in the therapeutic solution that inhibits microbial or neoplastic growth.
Catheter adapter having UV-C antimicrobial radiation source and access window within catheter lumen for intravenous therapy
A vascular access device having a fluid chamber in which UV-C radiation is emitted to irradiate pathogens contained in an infusate flowing though the fluid chamber.
Transfer Set with Integral Access Port
A multifunctional transfer set having an access port is disclosed. The multifunctional transfer set facilitates the introduction of elongate members insertably/retractably and allows fluid flow therethrough without requiring detachment during use. The multifunctional transfer set has a transfer set body assembly connected to a Y-adapter with an access port and a longitudinal portion. A longitudinal axis extends through the transfer set body assembly and longitudinal portion of the Y-adapter and not through the access port. An extension sub-assembly is connected to the access port, the extension sub-assembly having branch tubing, a flow-control device, and a coupling assembly allows fluid flow therethrough into and out of the transfer set body assembly if the flow-control device is open and prevents fluid from flowing therethrough if the flow-control device is closed. An existing transfer set without intervening side access may be converted into a multifunctional transfer set with a shorter longitudinal length.
SYRINGE DEVICE, SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DELIVERING OZONE GAS
In accordance with at least one exemplary embodiment, a syringe device, method and system for delivering a therapeutic amount of ozone are disclosed. A sterility case can enclose a syringe portion and can maintain sterility while the syringe device is interfaced to an ozone generator. A valvably-controlled fluid channel can extend from the barrel of the syringe through the case. Conducting elements can be attached to the case and can breach the case. The conductive elements can be connected to electrodes. The electrodes can be attached to the syringe. The syringe portion can be filled with oxygen gas via the valvably-controlled fluid channel. An electric current can be provided to the conductive elements from an ozone generator resulting in a corona discharge from at least one electrode. A therapeutic amount of ozone gas can be produced from the oxygen gas and the syringe delivered into the sterile field without compromise.
ANTIMICROBIAL INTRAVENOUS SET
An intravenous administration set is disclosed. The intravenous administration set includes a fluid container that contains a medicament and has an outlet on a proximal end thereof, a patient access tip that has an inlet on a distal end and a proximal end configured to be inserted into a patient, a tubing that has a distal end coupled to the outlet of the fluid container and a proximal end coupled to the distal end of the patient access tip, a pump coupled to the tubing between the fluid container and the patient access tip, and a light source emitting a light along the tubing toward the patient access tip.
DISINFECTION CONFIRMATION DEVICE
A device for obtaining confirmation of completion of disinfection includes an electrically activated light source. The device further includes at least one enclosure having walls formed of a diffusion control membrane and enclosing a salt, which is soluble in a disinfectant used for the disinfection. The at least one enclosure and the light source are electrically connected in series.
