SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR THE AUTOMATED OPENING OF A STERILE TUBING WELD
A system and method for automatically opening a heat bonded connection site between two conjoined tubing segments of a medical fluid path is provided. A pair of rollers is utilized to draw the connection site of the conjoined tubing segments between the rollers to compress the connection site with sufficient force to open the connection site. A guide in the form of an elongated groove is provided in a support surface of the system that properly aligns the seal line axis of the conjoined tubing segments relative to the rollers.
METHOD FOR INSERTING A CATHETER ASSEMBLY INTO A VESSEL USING A STORAGE CASE
A method for inserting a catheter assembly into a vessel using a storage case in which an outer pipe body and an inner pipe body which accommodate a guiding catheter and an inner catheter are connected to each other includes: pulling out the inner catheter from the inner pipe body, inserting the inner catheter into a proximal opening portion of the guiding catheter, causing a locking rotation portion of the inner catheter to rotate and be connected to a locking projection portion of the guiding catheter, assembling the guiding catheter and the pulled-out inner catheter, pulling-out, from the outer pipe body, the guiding catheter which is in a state where the inner catheter is assembled, taking out, from the storage case, a catheter assembly assembled by the guiding catheter and the pulled-out inner catheter, and inserting the catheter assembly into a vessel.
Drug Delivery Device with Container Access System and Related Method of Assembly
Drug delivery devices and related methods of assembly are disclosed. The drug delivery device may include a container including a wall with an interior surface and a seal member with an end surface. The interior surface of the wall and the end surface of the seal member may define a reservoir filled with a drug. A fluid pathway assembly may be connected to the container and include an overmold member that covers a length of a container access needle and which defines an enclosed space with the seal member. The overmold member may be moveable relative to the seal member to carry the container access needle between a storage position, where a point of the container access needle is disposed exterior to the reservoir, and a delivery position, where the point extends through the end surface of the seal member into the reservoir.
CAPPING AND CLEANSING DEVICES FOR NEEDLEFREE VASCULAR ACCESS CONNECTORS
Capping and cleansing devices for capping and cleansing needlefree connectors, particularly luer access devices such as needlefree vascular access connectors, and methods for using said devices, are described. The devices of the invention each include interconnected inner and outer housings that a user can transition between a locked or engaged position to allow the inner and outer housings to rotate in unison and an unlocked or disengaged position that allows the outer housing to rotate independently of the inner housing, and a compressible cleansing matrix secured in the device (preferably in a well in the outer housing).

Device for aseptically connecting large bore tubing
A connector for facilitating the connection of one piece of tubing to another so that fluid can flow from one piece to the other in a sterile manner. Characteristics of the connector include, but are not limited to, a flange at one of the connector, the flange comprising a recess for storage of at least part of a protective shield which Is removable after the flange is connected to the flange of a second connector.

Antimicrobial cap for disinfecting a port and method
An antimicrobial cap and method for inhibiting the growth of microbes and disinfecting a port are disclosed. The antimicrobial cap comprises an assembly that includes an outer cap, an inner member and a pad disposed within the inner member and impregnated with an antimicrobial agent in order to disinfect the port. The antimicrobial cap includes attachment features and a lock out mechanism allowing the disinfection of different types of ports and connectors and their safe disengagement and thereafter enabling the lock out mechanism in order to prevent re-use of the antimicrobial cap.
