Medical connector
A medical connector includes a medical device connection portion communication passage defined by a housing and a valve body to guide a fluid from a first medical device connection portion to a second medical device connection portion. In the medical connector, a male connector inserted into the a connector connection portion presses a head portion of the valve body while contracting and deforming a body portion, and a fluid is guided from the male connector connection portion to the medical device connection portion communication passage, through a gap formed between the head portion and the housing.
MEDICAL PUMP
A medical pump, comprising: a fluid housing having a plurality of intake openings, sealed by at least one intake valve, and an outlet opening sealed by an outlet valve; a piston which is sealing the fluid housing and connected to a drive mechanism, the drive mechanism pulls the piston to draw fluid from one of the plurality of intake openings and pushes the piston to discharge the fluid into the outlet opening; and a selecting valve enclosing at least two tubes, each providing fluid to one of the plurality of intake openings, wherein the selecting valve closes one of the at least two tubes while opening another of the at least two tubes.
CATHETER DEVICE COMPRISING A SEPARATING DEVICE FOR RETAINING MAGNETIC PARTICLES CONTAINED IN A FLUID AND PROTECTION DEVICE FOR A FUNCTIONAL ELEMENT
A catheter device having a catheter (24) in which a rotating shaft (25) which is made at least partially from a magnetic material is arranged, and a separating device which contains an annular body (27) surrounding the rotating shaft and having a cavity containing a magnetic body (13′), the magnetic body being arranged downstream from a point at which the shaft (25) exits the catheter (24) which it surrounds with respect to the direction of flow of the fluid through the catheter.
CATHETER ASSEMBLY WITH A SLIDABLE SEPTUM AND RELATED SYSTEMS AND METHODS
A catheter assembly configured to selectively isolate a blood fluid pathway from a priming solution fluid pathway. The catheter assembly may include a catheter adapter, which may include a distal end, a proximal end, and a lumen extending therethrough. A catheter may extend from the distal end and a side port may be disposed between the distal end and the proximal end. A septum may be positioned within the lumen and aligned with the side port. The septum may provide a seal between the side port and the catheter in the distal position. The septum may be configured to slide from the distal position to a proximal position proximal to the side port. In the proximal position, the side port may be in fluid communication with the catheter. The catheter assembly may increase a likelihood of obtaining a quick and clear indication of flashback to confirm proper catheter placement.
Bi-directional valve device for selective control of fluid flow through multiple converging paths
Hand-operated suction and irrigation medical devices are provided. An example medical device comprises a housing having a proximal end and a distal end. The housing defines first and second inlet paths and an outlet path. A first tubular member is partially disposed within the first inlet path and a second tubular member is partially disposed within the second inlet path. Each of the first and second tubular members extends from the proximal end of the housing. A third tubular member is partially disposed within the outlet path and extends from the distal end of the housing. A control member is slidably disposed on the housing and is movable between a first, proximal position and a second, distal position. A passageway provides fluid communication between the first inlet path and an opening to an environment external to the housing such that covering the opening provides control over the flow of fluid through the first inlet path and the first tubular member.
Catheter device, comprising a valve for controlling a fluid flow through a catheter
The invention relates to a catheter device (100) comprising a catheter (68) for insertion into a living being and at least one lumen (69, 70, 74, 79) for guiding a fluid flow within a section of the catheter device, and comprising a valve for controlling a fluid flow, in particular through a catheter, having a valve control chamber (12, 12a), into which an inlet opening (1a) of an inlet channel (1) and an outlet opening (2a) of an outlet channel (2) open, and further having a closure element (5, 13, 17) which can be moved in the valve control chamber (12, 12a) in a controlled manner and which, in at least a first position (I), closes the outlet opening (2a), in at least a second position (II) closes the inlet opening (1a), and which, in at least a third position (III), keeps open a connecting channel between the inlet opening (1a) and the outlet opening (2a), a valve train (A, A′, B, B′, 3, 14, 18) being provided and optionally moving the closure element (5, 13, 17) to at least the first, second or third position, and the at least one lumen (68, 70, 74, 79) being fluidically connected to the inlet channel or the outlet channel.
Priming System for Infusion Devices
Priming systems and infusion assemblies are provided. For example, a priming system comprises a priming conduit having a priming portion and a pressure portion. The priming portion is in fluid communication with a first fluid source, with an inlet and an outlet for ingress and egress of a first fluid from the first fluid source. The pressure portion is in fluid communication with a second fluid source connected by a connector. Disposed within the priming conduit are a biasing member and a valve having an open position and a closed position. The biasing member is in operable communication with the valve to urge the valve into the closed position such that the valve defaults to the closed position. The open position allows the first fluid to flow from the inlet to the outlet and the closed position prevents the first fluid from flowing from the inlet to the outlet.
FLUID FLOW CONTROL SYSTEMS AND METHODS
Systems and methods for controlling fluid flow are described. In some aspects, a system may include a first port, a second port, and a third port. The system may be configured to be in a first state if a male fitting of a device is not inserted in a female fitting of the third port. The valve may block a first fluid path defined between the first port and the third port if the system is in the first state. The system may also be configured to be in a second state if a male fitting of a device is fully inserted in the female fitting of the third port. The valve may block a second fluid path defined between the first port and the second port if the system is in the second state.
