The present invention discloses a field assembled electrical distribution device assembled from various prepackaged modular kits. The prepackaged modular kits include all of the components required for their assembly. The prepackaged modular kits, when assembled by a certified assembler using a certified method and verification means provided by the modular kit manufacturer and one or more well know third-party certifiers, meets the requirements local, national and international electrical codes and is eligible for the third-party's certification mark.

A support rail and housing assembly is mountable on a housing base. The housings are equipped with electrical contact and/or functional elements which can be strung together. The support rail is mountable on the mounting base even when the housings have already been arranged on the support rail before the support rail is mounted. A termination field and a guide member are independently pivotally coupled to a base body. The termination field pivots relative to the base body along a path of travel. The guide member is coupled to the base body to provide bend radius protection to cables plugged into the termination field. The guide member defines a channel leading the cables from the termination field towards a first side of the base body at an exterior of the base body. In certain examples, the guide member and termination field pivot relative to the base body about different hinge axes. In other examples, the termination field pivots with the guide member for part of the path of travel and relative to the guide member for another part of the path of travel.
