ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT WITH ADDITIONAL COMPARTMENT AND WIRING TO ACCOUNT FOR TEMPERATURE LIMITATIONS OF CONNECTED CONDUCTORS
A pre-fabricated electrical apparatus has: a main housing configured to enclose electrical equipment in use; a splice compartment mounted, or integrally formed, external to and adjacent the main housing; a conductor passage defined between the main housing and the splice compartment; and in which the main housing and splice compartment are configured to, in use, permit a conductor to extend from a first conductor termination point, defined within the main housing, to a second conductor termination point, defined within the splice compartment, with the second termination point having a temperature rating that is higher than a temperature rating of the electrical equipment. A method includes: prefabricating, at a prefabrication facility, an electrical apparatus by mounting or integrally forming a splice compartment adjacent an external part of a main housing; and installing the electrical apparatus at an end user facility, which is remote from the prefabrication facility.
Motor control center (MCC) units with slidable shutters
Motor control centers have units or buckets with an operator mechanism with a retractable power stab assembly and one or more sliding shutters that controllably block access to a stab isolation port based on position of the operator disconnect handle using an attached shutter cam that slides the shutter right and left.

ELECTRICAL PANELBOARD GUARD WITH COUPLED MEMBERS
Disclosed herein is a panelboard guard assembly configured to restrict access to a panelboard having a cover and a door defined therein, the cover having first and second side edges. The panelboard guard assembly includes overlapping members that are, at least in some implementations, mutually coupled to each other. The panelboard guard assembly further includes an adjustment mechanism that extends between and couples the members together, the adjustment mechanism facilitating adjustment of the distance between the outer ends of the members.
Dual contactor electrical panelboard assembly, systems and methods
A panelboard assembly for a harsh and/or hazardous environment is provided. The panelboard assembly includes a main breaker assembly, a first subpanel assembly, and a second subpanel assembly. The first subpanel assembly includes a first contactor assembly, and a first branch breaker assembly electrically connected to the first contactor assembly and configured to be electrically connected to a first group of loads. The first contactor assembly is configured to switch the first group of loads on and off all at once. The second subpanel assembly is electrically connected in parallel to the first subpanel assembly, and includes a second contactor assembly and a second branch breaker assembly electrically connected to the second contactor assembly and configured to be electrically connected to a second group of loads. The second contactor assembly is configured to switch the second group of loads on and off all at once.

Handle for a compartment of a low, medium or high voltage switchgear
A handle for a compartment of a low, medium or high voltage switchgear includes: a body part; a hand grasping part; and a lock. The handle is movable from a closed position to an open position. When the handle is in the closed position, the handle is not useable to open a door of a compartment of the switchgear. When the handle is in the open position, the handle is useable to open the door of the compartment of the switchgear. In the open position, the hand grasping part is positioned so as to be graspable by a human user. In the closed position, a transition of an active element in the compartment of the switchgear from a quiescent state to an active or potentially active state activates the lock. Activation of the lock stops the handle from moving from the closed position to the open position.

System and Method for Relocating Branch Circuit Electrical Cables from an Existing Electrical Enclosure
A system and method for relocating branch circuit electrical cables which enter an existing electrical enclosure, and for which additional cable length is unavailable, to a novel enclosure presenting cable entry points favorably positioned to receive the existing branch circuit cables without additional length required, and in a manner considered safe and repeatable for multiple branch circuit cables to be relocated at present or in the future.
