Recessed protective apparatus for outdoor electrical outlets
10971910 · 2021-04-06 · ·

A mounting device for outdoor electrical outlets includes an upper plate and a lower plate arranged and interconnected in a generally V-shaped configuration, and is adapted for recessed installation into a power pedestal or other structure. The upper and lower plates may be contiguous along their inner edges. Alternatively, an intermediate plate may be disposed therebetween, giving the mounting device a trapezoidal configuration. Either or both of the upper and lower plates may be sloped, and side plates may extend between the side edges of the upper and lower plates. The upper plate has an aperture for an electrical outlet, which when installed in the aperture will face generally downward and thus be protected from rain and snow. The outer edges of the upper and lower plates, and of the side plates when present, may have mounting flanges to facilitate installation of the mounting device in a power pedestal.

ELECTRICALLY INTERLOCKED RECEPTACLES IN POWER PEDESTALS

A power pedestal is described. The power pedestal includes a plurality of receptacles that are configured to connect to external devices. The plurality of receptacles includes a first receptacle and a second receptacle of the plurality of receptacles. The first receptacle and the second receptacle are electrically interlocked with one another. The power pedestal includes a first circuit breaker connected to the first receptacle and a second circuit breaker connected to the second receptacle, and a shunt trip circuit that is configured to trip the first circuit breaker to disable power to the first receptacle of the power pedestal, responsive to the second circuit breaker associated with the second receptacle of the power pedestal being in an active state. Related devices and methods are also described.

In-ground enclosure system

An in-ground enclosure for housing electrical components is provided. The in-ground enclosure can include an outer shell defining an internal compartment housing a lift system, an equipment rack structure connected to the lift system, an upper panel comprising a compartment opening for accessing the internal compartment, an enclosure cover adapted to cover the compartment opening and for removably sealing the compartment opening. In certain uses, a telecommunications base station may also be provided. The telecommunications base station can include the in-ground enclosure and a cellular base station, with the cellular base station including an antenna coupled to signal processing equipment and a power supply.
