Breakaway medical tubing connector
A breakaway medical tubing connector and method for joining two sections of medical tubing includes a pump side member and a patient side member positioned axially opposite from the pump side member. The patient side member has a first channel disposed within the pump side member and a first valve disposed within the first channel. The pump side member has a second channel disposed within the patient side member and a second valve disposed within the second channel. The first valve may be an active valve and the second valve may be a passive valve. A securing bar may be disposed on the pump side member and a securing arm may be disposed on the patient side member for providing a detachable coupling of the two members.
Bypass catheter
An innovative medical device that permits rapid, minimally invasive restoration of blood flow across a vascular blockage. A system allowing for lysis or removal of said blockage. Said device creates a temporary bypass using longitudinal structure configured for insertion into the blood vessel and adapted to deliver a side hole to a target area. The side hole defines a distal first segment and a proximal second segment with a lumen to allow blood flow therethrough to the distal end hole. In an alternate embodiment, a slidable outer sheath can cover the side hole to permit reversal of blood flow from the distal end hole to a proximal end hole located outside a patient's body by means of an aspiration controller. Alternate embodiments include an optional anchoring balloon, a macerating stent or wires, perforations for fluid delivery, and an backflow valve.
Check valve with integrated filter
A check valve may include an upper housing defining an inlet, a lower housing defining an outlet, and a cavity interposed between and defined by the upper and lower housings for fluidly connecting the inlet and the outlet. The check valve may further include a flexible valve member mounted in the cavity to selectively permit fluid flow in a first direction, and prevent fluid backflow in a second direction opposite to the first direction. A filter member may be mounted in the upper housing, upstream of the flexible valve member. The filter member may have an elongated portion configured to maximize surface area thereof exposed to the fluid flow, and restrict passage of undesirable matter in fluid flowing through the check valve.
Distal Valve for a Catheter
A method for making a catheter. The method includes forming a catheter tube including an outer wall circumscribing at least one lumen and having a closed distal end, and creating a slit valve in a distal segment of the catheter tube proximal of the closed distal end. The slit valve includes a slit through the outer wall and a compliant segment designed to facilitate inward deflection of a portion of the outer wall along the slit when negative pressure is applied to the at least one lumen. The compliant segment is circumferentially spaced apart from the slit.
THREE-WAY DEVICE FOR ANTI-BACKFLOW INFUSION AND DOSING
A three-way device for anti-backflow infusion and dosing, comprising a three-way valve body (1), the two ends of the three-way valve body (1) acting as liquid inlets, and an interface of the middle of the three-way valve body (1) acting as a liquid outlet; and a non-return mechanism is installed inside the three-way valve body (1). The non-return mechanism comprises a reverse-stop elastic tube (3) and a connecting piece (4), the connecting piece (4) being mounted with a sliding fit in the middle in the three-way valve body (1), the two ends of the connecting piece (4) respectively being connected to one end of the reverse-stop elastic tube (3), and the other end of each reverse-stop elastic tube (3) being closed, and abutting the inner end of a connecting base (2). A gap is kept between the reverse-stop elastic tube (3) and the inner wall of the three-way valve body (1). Each liquid inlet of the three-way device can be connected to a syringe and, when a liquid drug is injected by any one syringe, an infusion path is automatically opened by means of compressing the closed end of the related reverse-stop elastic tube (3), without the need for any closing and opening operation, thereby preventing misoperation. Leakage, overflow, and backflow will not occur when in use, ensuring the safety of the infusion and the injection and aspiration performed during the infusion process.
Medical connectors and methods of use
Some embodiments disclosed herein relate to a medical connector with an internal cavity with an internal closure system having a dome valve configured to resist retrograde fluid flow caused by various sources, including patient activity and fluid administration activity. A proximal closure system with a seal member and a moveable plug are also located within the internal cavity.
Airway Assist Device
An airway assist device and methods of making and using an airway assist device to assist in opening an airway or removing fluid or material obstructing an airway of a subject.
Valve, fluid control device, and sphygmomanometer
A sphygmomanometer device includes a piezoelectric pump, a valve, and a cuff. The valve includes a first valve housing, a diaphragm, and a second valve housing. The diaphragm is fixed to the second valve housing and first valve housing such that it is separated from a valve seat and the periphery of an opening portion in the diaphragm is in contact with a valve seat while providing a pressure thereto. Thus, the diaphragm defines a lower valve chamber communicating with a first vent hole, an upper valve chamber communicating with a second vent hole, a lower valve chamber communicating with a first vent hole, and an upper valve chamber communicating with the upper valve chamber, together with the second valve housing and first valve housing.
CASTELLATED CHECK VALVES
A check valve includes an upper housing defining an inlet of the check valve, a lower housing defining an outlet of the check valve, and a cavity interposed between and defined by the upper and lower housings for fluidly connecting the inlet and the outlet. The check valve further includes a valve member mounted in the cavity to selectively permit fluid flow in a first direction, and prevent fluid backflow in a second direction opposite to the first direction. The valve member includes a valve body and a valve stem portion extending axially through a central axis of the valve body. The valve member may further include a plurality of feet disposed about and extending longitudinally from an outer circumferential perimeter of the valve body.
Distal valve for a catheter
A bi-directional valve assembly, including valves for use in closed-ended catheters or other elongate tubular devices, is disclosed. In one embodiment, a catheter assembly for insertion into a body of a patient is disclosed and comprises an elongate catheter tube including an outer wall that at least partially defines at least one lumen that extends between a proximal end and a closed distal end thereof. The catheter tube includes a valve assembly that in turn includes a linear slit valve defined through the outer wall of a distal segment of the catheter tube, and a deformation region. The deformation region includes a compliant segment disposed in the outer wall of the catheter tube and a thinned portion of the outer wall. The compliant segment and thinned portion of the deformation region cooperate to preferentially deform the outer wall and open the slit valve during aspiration through the catheter tube.
