Wire and Cable Pulling Grip
A cable grip includes a pulling arm/force member having a tapered or continuously changing cross-section.
Method of installing spiral hangers about a messenger line while removing lashing wire
There is provided a method of installing spiral hangers about a messenger line installed between first and second utility poles with a cable being lashed to the messenger line with a lashing wire. The method includes attaching a first and second spiral hangers to the messenger line between first and second utility poles with the first spiral hanger disposed about the messenger line and the cable. The method includes removing the lashing wire from being around the messenger line and the cable adjacent the second spiral hanger. The method includes moving the second spiral hanger towards the second utility pole. The method includes attaching a successive spiral hanger to the messenger line between the spiral hangers, and repeating the moving of the second spiral hanger and attaching another successive spiral hanger.

ROBOTIC STABILIZATION MECHANISMS AND RELATED METHODS
Stabilization mechanisms may include at least one gripper mounted to a powerline-crawling robot, which may be configured to grasp a powerline supporting the powerline-crawling robot. At least one controller may be configured to control a lateral position of the at least one gripper. At least one inertial measurement unit may be configured to sense at least one of lateral movement and axial rotation of the powerline-crawling robot. The controller may control the lateral position of the gripper based on data from the inertial measurement unit. Various other related systems, devices, mechanisms, and methods are also disclosed.
HYBRID INSTALLATION APPARATUS AND PROCESSES
A hybrid conductor puller-tensioner and control system are disclosed. The puller-tensioner includes a motor/generator mechanically coupled to a drum. The motor/generator is in electrical communication with a generator and a rechargeable power source. In a tensioning mode, the motor/generator can be used to charge the rechargeable power source. In a pulling mode, when the power demanded by the motor exceeds the capacity of the generator, the motor can be connected to both the generator and the rechargeable power source simultaneously to provide additional power.

APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR TEMPORARILY SUSPENDING CONDUCTORS
A set of components for assembling a temporary wire suspender includes in the set a yoke plate, a plurality of J-hook assemblies, a plurality of linkage members, and a plurality of removable couplers configurable to handle an expandable number of energized or de-energized conductors or sub-conductors. Positive control of the suspended and/or supported energized or de-energized conductors or sub-conductors is achieved by using releasable latches on the J-hook assemblies.
Cable recovery machine
A cable recovery machine, having at least one traction module configured to hold and draw at least one cable, in particular of a cable laying plant, and at least one cutting module located downstream of the traction module and able to receive the cable that is introduced into the cutting module in a direction of feed (X1); the cutting module having at least one cutting unit provided with at least one cutting blade and integral with a shaft made to rotate by corresponding drive means, so that by rotating the shaft, the cutting unit is made to rotate and cuts the cable when the latter enters the cutting module in the direction of feed (X1).
