Weld positioning clip for encapsulation process

A cable clip for engaging around an exposed conducting core of a cable during an encapsulation process. The clip is formed as a rectilinear loop having an inner surface and an outer surface and opposed ends which define an opening in the loop therebetween by means of which the clip can be engaged around the exposed core. The clip has posts distributed around, and extending outwardly from, its outer surface. The posts engage with an inner surface in an encapsulation mold enclosed around the clip so as to maintain a minimum spacing between the mold and the outer surface of the body around the entire clip and thereby ensure a minimum thickness of encapsulation sealant is formed around the exposed core of the cable during the encapsulation process.

Manufacturing an electrical device

Various embodiments of the teachings herein include an electrical device comprising: a cable wire; a cable insulation arranged around the cable wire such that a section of the cable wire at least partially longitudinally protrudes out of the cable insulation; a heat-shrink tube at least partially arranged around the cable insulation and at least partially around the section of the cable wire; and a sealing material at least partially inside the cable insulation thereby sealing any gaps between the cable wire and the cable insulation.

Pressurization and heating device and method for insulation system restoration of a power cable

A pressurisation and heating device for restoring an insulation system of a power cable, the pressurisation and heating device including: a first part including a first channel configured to receive a portion of the power cable, a second part including a second channel configured to receive a portion of the power cable, wherein the pressurisation and heating device is configured to be set in a closed state in which the first channel faces the second channel thereby forming a heating chamber extending from a first end to a second end, opposite the first end, of the pressurisation and heating device, wherein the pressurisation and heating device is configured to be pressurised to obtain a pressure higher than atmospheric pressure inside the heating chamber when the power cable is arranged sealed in the heating chamber, wherein the pressurisation and heating device has an at least 20 cm long axially extending section which is primarily made of material at most having a conductivity of the order of 1000 S/m at 20 C.
