Filtered vacuum relief vent valve
An embodiment includes a valve comprising: a valve channel that couples a valve input to a valve output; a one-way valve included within the channel; a filter; a first pressure relief port, wherein the first pressure relief port is configured to relieve negative pressure when pressure at the valve output is less than pressure at the valve input; a second pressure relief port, wherein the second pressure relief port is configured to relieve positive pressure when pressure at the valve output is greater than pressure at the valve input; wherein the one-way valve includes a monolithic portion that simultaneously seals the channel, the first pressure relief port, and the second pressure relief port; wherein the filter covers the first pressure relief port.
MEDICAL DEVICES FOR BLOOD REFLUX PREVENTION AND METHODS OF USE
Described is a catheter patency maintenance device comprising of a flush syringe, an elongate plunger rod with a stopper slidably positioned within the barrel, a cap, disinfectant and a valve movable between an open position and a closed position. The valve may include a valve stem and/or openings in the valve to permit fluid flow. Methods of using the flush syringe assemblies are also described.
SYSTEMS, DEVICES AND METHODS FOR DISPENSING FLOWABLE HEMOSTATS THAT INCORPORATE SAFETY MECHANISMS FOR PREVENTING AIR EMBOLISMS
A dispensing system includes a hollow tube having an outer wall with an air vent formed in the outer wall. A valve including a flexible flap is disposed inside the tube. The flexible flap, normally biased into a retracted position, is moveable between an extended position for sealing the air vent and the retracted position for unsealing the air vent. A syringe connector interconnects a syringe with the proximal end of the hollow tube and defines a fluid flow path. A flowable viscous fluid is disposed within the syringe. When a syringe plunger is depressed, the flowable viscous fluid is expelled from the syringe and forced through the fluid flow path and into the proximal end of the hollow tube. When the flowable viscous fluid engages the flexible flap, the flexible flap is forced to move into a position that seals the air vent.
Urological device including a valve retained in a urinary catheter
A urological device includes a valve retained in a urinary catheter. The urinary catheter has a first portion that is insertable into a urethra and a second portion adapted to remain outside of the urethra when the first portion is inserted into the urethra. The valve has a closed configuration adapted to prevent urine from exiting the urinary catheter and an open configuration adapted to allow urine to flow through and exit the urinary catheter. The valve is adapted to move from the closed configuration to the open configuration in response to a hydrodynamic pressure of at least 750 mm H2O applied to the valve for at least 5 seconds.
Distal valve for a catheter
A bi-directional valve assembly, including valves for use in closed-ended catheters or other elongate tubular devices, is disclosed. In one embodiment, a catheter assembly for insertion into a body of a patient is disclosed and comprises an elongate catheter tube including an outer wall that at least partially defines at least one lumen that extends between a proximal end and a closed distal end thereof. The catheter tube includes a valve assembly that in turn includes a linear slit valve defined through the outer wall of a distal segment of the catheter tube, and a deformation region. The deformation region includes a compliant segment disposed in the outer wall of the catheter tube and a thinned portion of the outer wall. The compliant segment and thinned portion of the deformation region cooperate to preferentially deform the outer wall and open the slit valve during aspiration through the catheter tube.
VALVE WITH INTERNAL MEMBER
A valve with an internal member is disclosed which allows exhaled carbon dioxide to escape from a breathing circuit when the circuit gas pressure drops below a threshold pressure. The valve operates by occluding one or more ports under a relatively high pressure and opening the one or more ports under a relatively low pressure. The internal member is attached to the body of the valve at two or more locations on the internal member. The internal member moves in a direction perpendicular to the gas flow through the valve.
SMART VALVED HOLDING CHAMBER
A medication delivery system having a holding chamber capable of delivering dosages of medicament from a metered dose inhaler. The holding chamber includes an actuator detector, flow detector and display. In another embodiment, a medication delivery system includes a holding chamber having an input and an output end, a metered dose inhaler operably coupled to the input end of the holding chamber, and a metered dose inhaler identifier associated with the holding chamber and operable to identify the metered dose inhaler coupled to the holding chamber.
MEDICAL CHECK VALVE FOR FOOD DISTRIBUTION
A medical check valve includes a main body with an inlet and an outlet. A poppet valve base in the main body may include a first conduit to enable fluid flow between the inlet and the outlet in a normal operating position and a second conduit to enable fluid flow between the outlet and a top portion of the poppet valve base in a bypass operating position. A poppet cap with a neck portion inserted into the poppet valve base may be moved between an open position and a closed position. In the open position, fluid flow is permitted into an aperture in the cap, e.g., via a syringe, in the bypass operating position such that the fluid in the syringe is delivered to the outlet. In the closed position, and fluid flow is disabled, preventing possible splash back events.
Valve device, valve insert, external functional means, treatment apparatus, and method
The present invention relates to a valve device comprising an elastic valve insert and a reception means for the valve insert. It further relates to a valve insert, an external functional means and a treatment apparatus, as well as a manufacturing method and methods in which the valve device of the invention may be employed.
Valve device for a medical fluid line system
A valve device for a medical fluid line system includes a main body, the main body having a first fluid passage and a second fluid passage, each fluid passage of the first and second fluid passages extending between an inlet side and an outlet side of the main body. The main body has a first wall portion and a second wall portion which are each elastically displaceable, under an effect of fluid pressure, relative to a substantially dimensionally stable web portion of the main body. Each wall portion of the first and second wall portions is arranged on the web portion, forming one of the first and second fluid passages, in such a way that the first fluid passage is substantially uninfluenced by a fluid-pressure-induced deformation of the second wall portion, and the second fluid passage is substantially uninfluenced by a fluid-pressure-induced deformation of the first wall portion.
