ELECTRICAL CABLE HANGERS
A hanger for securing electrical cabling to a structure includes a cable holding portion provided at a distal end of the hanger for holding one or more cables to be secured and a hook-like portion provided at a proximal end of the hanger for receiving and securing the hanger to the structure, the hook-like portion having a first width dimensioned for receiving a portion of the structure and an opening having a width smaller than the first width.
Installation method and system for overhead conductors
A method for positioning a conductor for an overhead energy transport, the obtaining of a conductor with an elongate core and an elongate sheath situated around the elongate core. The method comprises the step of fixing the elongate sheath to the elongate core at a position which is not at the ends of the conductor, by means of at least one clamping piece.
Clamp for a wire of an overhead line and method for tightening a wire of an overhead line
A clamp for a wire of an overhead line comprising a main body has a groove for hosting the wire, a first and a second tapered region located in respective ends of the groove, and a first and a second spring placed in respective holes on opposite sides of the groove. The first and second springs are located in a central portion of the groove and are arranged for pushing respective wedges into the tapered regions in opposite directions. The wedges are arranged for tightening the wire by blocking between the wire itself and a wall of the respective first and second tapered region.
Mounting system for sensors on electrical power lines
A system for monitoring current and voltage from a power source or load at the tap wire connected to an overhead distribution power line, the distribution power line being spaced apart from the ground is provided. The system includes a current clamp sensor coupled to the tap wire and spaced apart from the distribution power line. A sensor is insulated body coupled to the current clamp, the sensor body being configured to simultaneously measure voltage on the overhead distribution power line and current of the tap wire prior to the distribution power line. A mounting assembly is provided that suspends the sensor from the distribution power line, the mounting assembly being coupled between the distribution power line and the current clamp.
Flexible cable splice
A cable splice for overhead power transmission lines includes a flexible housing. A first casing is positioned in the flexible housing. The first casing is configured to receive and retain a first conductor. A second casing is positioned in the flexible housing. The second casing is configured to receive and retain a second conductor. A connecting member is connected to the first casing and the second casing. The first casing is moveable relative to the second casing.
BREAKAWAY PIN FOR OVERHEAD ELECTRICAL LINES
An insulator pin for overhead electrical lines has a frangible portion. The pin has an elongate support for attachment to an electrical distribution pole and a body. The body has a connector for an insulator, a frangible portion and an elongate support holding portion from which the elongate support extends. Preferably the elongate support is a bolt. The frangible portion permits the body to break into two pieces for preventing damage to electrical distribution poles from forces transverse to the overhead electrical line. The frangible portion is located between the connector and the elongate support holding portion. The insulator pin may be attached to an electrical distribution pole to protect the pole from forces transverse to an overhead electrical lines supported by the pole. A method of making the insulator pin by molding is disclosed.
STRAIN BACKUP INTEGRATED DEVICE CARBON FIBER WIRE
A complete set of tension backup device for carbon fiber wire, consisting of a backup tension device, a performed armor rod, a parallel hanging plate, an adapter base, a wire drawing device, a support damper clamp, a U-shaped pulling ring, a triangular hanging plate, and a tensioning device. The backup tension device is a backup strain clamp in a wedge-shaped structure. The support damper clamps are provided on carbon fiber split wires between an original strain clamp and the backup tension device, and arranged at intervals of 3-4 meters.
Dead-end shoe apparatus and methods of use thereof
An apparatus and method for enabling removable coupling of conducting lines in a powerline assembly is disclosed. In one embodiment, a dead-end shoe apparatus is disclosed that comprises a capping mechanism, coupling mechanism, and connection clamp, the connection clamp facilitating the removable coupling of conducting lines of variable diameters to the apparatus. In another embodiment, a method of selectively transmitting electricity in a powerline assembly is disclosed, wherein conducting lines are removably coupled to dead-end shoe apparatuses to facilitate the transmission.
Grounding system
A grounding system, structured to ground a number of cables supported by a support assembly, includes a multi-function line assembly and a number of conductive mounting assemblies. Each conductive mounting assembly is structured to be coupled to the multi-function line and to a conductive pile.
GROUNDING DEVICES
A shotgun stick for use with grounding devices is provided. An example shotgun stick includes a housing and a drive shaft supported within the housing. The shotgun stick further includes a clamp stick head attached to the housing at a first end and operably connected to a first end of the drive shaft such that rotation of the drive shaft actuates the clamp stick head. The shotgun stick also includes a ratchet locking module that selectively limits rotation of the drive shaft via engagement between a side pin and a ratchet gear of the ratchet locking module. The clamp stick head includes an exterior housing, a head sleeve that defines an opening configured to receive a tool attachment secured thereto, and a slotted inner sleeve positioned between the exterior housing and the head sleeve that prevents rotation of a tool attachment received by the head sleeve.
